From reading up on Absinthe, it seems that Allister Crowley was quite into that specific drink. Since the Absinthe poster is hanging on that wall, I could easily imagine it being a part of their 'sacred ceremonies'. Absinthe... says it's made with Wormwood... I heard that was a hallucinogen, but I'm not 100% on that one. BUT... Allister Crowley wrote an essay about it or something, I haven't read it over very well yet..
