Reading through the descriptions, so far I've seen five (out of fifteen) that mention phone calls... House Party, The Game, Fight Club, Cruel Intentions, Swingers... in the referenced scene. That seems like a bit more then random.

I'm wondering if all of them will reference phone calls in some way ...

Apparently it's time to bust out the Jiffy Pop, as Tachyon's latest message requires some couch time. We are presently trying to track down copies of the movies listed. It's a shame we couldn't plan a slumber party for such an event.
