I don't get why this is still an issue.

Running a chat with several hundred concurrent is not really a challenge, well if you're not opting for an off-the-shelf solution that is also bound by the limitations of the various flash streaming servers (i.e. concurrency problems).

IRC would be one ...

Ah, some fresh perspectives! Welcome onboard guys! Thanks for some very well thought-out posts. I was beginning to think the discussion had run its course here.

I agree with your statements about the potential of this narrative form. The post-modern reference is interesting, but I do not think it ...

Oh, yes DrQuest, you are right Hyemew! How cool. Those were some good, fun times, and a lot of really great people involved. And yeah, Thor Knai is a beast with the cane!

First of all, I think the vlog aspect can be maintained and still incorporated in a kind of third-party representation (Is this the magical window you are talking about, Lurker? Not really sure what you mean).

I am going to hazard a guess (since I am also not 100% sure), but I think Lurker refers ...

I know, but since this thing started as a blog with the idea being to explore the potential for entertainment using the vlog format, and since they've carried it this far (nearly a year) on that pretense, I think it would be a shame for them to not continue doing so now.

Well, I hear what you ...

Re: The Direction of the Show - Your Opinions

EDIT: I realise that maybe this thread shouldn't be in Concerns and Complaints, because it is neither. Suggestions seem to be only for forum stuff, so I didn't know where to put it. If a moderator feels like moving it somewhere more appropriate please go ahead.

How would that work, though? You ...

The Direction of the Show - Your Opinions

We have had some interesting discussions in the last days in several threads here, especially in 'Ways to Come Out of this Better than Before' http://www.lonelygirl15.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=7410

While I believe, we were quite good at reconciling the view points of the heavily-immersed and the ...

Sorry if I came on a little harsh, it was not meant personally. What I do find frustrating, however, is that everybody seems to project their personal enjoyment of the existing (or possibly past) ARG onto the future of the franchise, or the direction it should take.

I do not mean to belittle the ...

The first recognized ARG, "The Beast" had an astoundly large fanbase.

And just what do you think their budget was? Certainly enough to raise a whole studio afterwards. You think ilovebees was produced for free? The Nokia game? Those crazy Scandinavians probably worked for free beer, right ...

I think I am going to have to disagree with some of what immortal1 and vanillaflava have said about glenn's storywriting abililites.

Sure, but where did I say anything about GR's storytelling abilities? Other than maybe, I don't think it's necessarily his fault the two approaches do not form a ...

In video games you can find stories and storytelling styles as varied as any you'll find in film and television - and I'd say you'll actually find more since video games can utilize a more direct correlation between input and output with audience interaction.

Intersting point, which I am very ...

That was during the period of time when we were still uncovering all the real life facts about LG15. At one point we unearthed Thor Knai's audition video (through the MySpace connection), and had a lot of fun with that.

I am a bit hazy on this one, but I remember us having a chat conversation ...

I stopped viewing on YT mainly because the quality on Revver is just so much better. Since the community features of YT are not used anymore to keep up the illusion of these being autentic vlogs, its purpose os lost anyway. It is sad to see people still posting 'I am on to you, you are fake'. I was ...

Re: Yes, yes, yes

I don't know why I still hope. I see the pedestrian choices and my heart sinks. I want this show to suceed. I want very much for it to be completely beautiful in its own way. All that's needed is belief in their own vision and commitment to their own choices to suceed.

Very nicely put Kimmy and ...

Whoops, we were a bit out of sync here, I am moving my response down here ... oh no, watch me pour salt on healed wounds yet again :)

Around the time the concept of Cassie was introduced is when the style was beginning its shift. The very next video had the "10/12/06" thing, and then the one ...
