looking at it, its possible that the random number is derived from a scale pattern.
in music, often times when working with instruments in different keys, u refer to the notes as numbers.
IE in a C scale, 1 would be C; 2 would be D; 3 would be E, ect.

Nice idea!...have a story line based on the idea that you're not sure who to trust.... then clearly divide who you can and cant trust by giving them team colors...
