Clues. Theories. Where do you think the story is headed?

This is why they put the tag there, to correct the error by the actress.
I partially agree, however I think it was a combination of her accent, and her slurring the words. I agree with... gosh, cant remember who said it... that she was so used to saying it casually that she slurred it.

English isn't my native language, but I'm 100% certain from listening to the slowmo version, that she says Denderah. She pronounces it a little oddly, like DEN-d'rah, almost swallowing the e in -derah making it more like a little pause.

No clue how this can sound like gecko to anyone :D Besides, Order of Gecko would be pretty silly huh? :)

Btw. Hi all!

I absolutely heard 'denderah' too.

I'm asking my housemate who has never heard of LG15. And I'm mentioning no syllables or words or anything. See what she thinks in a bit...she's downloading :D

I've been away for a few days and have just caught up on the 2 videos.. not paying overly great amounts of attention on first sittings obviously (I'll do that later) but I 100% heard denderah.. and I tohught "hang on" and hence why I'm on these boards now. I ddn't even look at the tags until after the video.

Yeah, my housemate heard the correct amount of syllables for Denderah with no pushing at all. When I mentioned the word she was absolutely certain. she pulled the file in to Acid and played with the levels and stuff.

I'm 100% sure it's that too, for the record.

I totally believe it's Denderah but i think you all hear Denderah cuz you know it's Denderah.

I fist saw the vid right after it was up on lonelygirl15.com main page on my way here.

I played the vid and thought she said gecko.

I jumped on yahoo and searched for "Order of the Gecko".

I found that lame ass web page, searched the member list, and decided there was no connection.

I came back to the boards to post my findings and come to find out people are saying it's Denderah.

I thought woh! I was way off. So I went back trying to hear Denderah.

I played it 100 times and couldn't hear Denderah.

Then I listened to the slow mo and this is my conclusion.

It totally sounds like a 2 syllable word starting with D, G, or J and ending in RO. Something like D-E-N D-R-O

But with the tag on the vid Dendro I'm guessing is Denderah.

Anyone who says they CLEARLY hear Denderah I think is fooling themselves.

I'm not fooling myself :p I clearly hear "Den" then a muffled "uh" sound then "rah". Even 'Denrah' is enough to convince me. If you're not hearing the 3 syllables, you're not concentrating on Bree's voice enough.

I already told you i belive it's Denderah.

My point is you can only kinda hear Denderah or some form of it.

The quote above proves my point.

It is by far NOT clear.

I thought it may have been pronounced quickly, she was in a bit of a mardy mood.. "den-d'rah" hence the sound of 2 syllables.. just a guess though. Because of the way it is written, we are inclined to say den-deh-rah.

Just a thought.

I absolutely agree with you. I suspect that it is denderah, and that one does make sense, and the tag is there. So ok, let's go with denderah. But as you said, I still don't hear it. Closest I can make myself hear, as you said, is "dendro" - which is, admittedly, pretty close.

It's possible that she is talking so fast that "Denderah, okay?" merges together. "Denderah" ends with a vowel, and "okay" starts with one, so they can easily squish together. It's hard to make the two clear, especially when talking fast.

(A bit like how in French, they merge "le" and "eau" to make "l'eau" - it became too fiddley to pronounce the two vowels.)

So "Denderah, okay?" becomes "denderokay?"

close your eyes (as i mentioned before) when you listen so you are really focused on the sound and not the image...it really helps...and tune out Daniel's voice

i do hear Denderah clearly

it may have to do with accents you are used to hearing...and how people say certain things, but i totally hear it

I heard the word Decca when I first heard it.
and.. thought I have never actually clearly heard the word Denderah.. (Dendera) It is definatly a D at the beginning. If your hearing G, your are, and Im sorry, insane.

Also, I agree with what so and so said that the actress would slur it.. that it would come off more natural.
And like the camera suggestion loose the middle sound.
Really.. I believe its pretty clear that she starts with D and ends with an A sound.
Also, the fact that the tag was added half an hour later seems a pretty solid clue.

Order of Dendera?

You mean it is not Order of Vindaloo? Man, I heard that wrong.

But this does show that Bree is separated from her folks, just a little bit. What is she into that her folks are not?

Maybe Daniel isn't the only thing she sneaks around for. Dendera meetings, perhaps?
