As one final appeal in arguing my overall point here, that's the way I'm seeing this whole Tachyon/OpAphid thing. I think you'd be losing about as much in ignoring them as you would be with ignoring Gemma and Jonas. I can't quantify that or give you some percentages of loss, of course, but I still feel that some viewers are losing a lot. If they don't want to watch them that's okay, but I think they should at least be made aware that they're passing them up.

At the very least they could post the spy vids here with the vlogs and they could play them from the video logs in the profiles of the vlogs on YouTube (the same way they're playing the different vlogs through one another's video logs), or have all the vlog accounts subscribe to Tach and Op... or just something. I mean damn.

I'm quoting only this section of the above post due to length, and for no other reason.

First, let me emphasize that I firmly agree with you on at least one point--even if you don't have to watch OpAphid and Tachyon to follow the LG15 storyline, their videos add so much depth to the story that I can't imagine why you wouldn't want to. I was merely trying to address the point made at the beginning of the thread, and specifically this thread's title; that is, the claim that because OpAphid and Tachyon are relevant to the story, the Creators lied when they said one wouldn't have to watch them to understand what was going on.

I would understand if the Creators and the OpAphid PMs decided to post their videos on the LG15 site (although I myself will continue to watch them on YT, which provides a more realistic setting for the story, in my opinion), but I don't think it's too much to ask for people to accept two more characters into the cast.

I do think you're still overestimating the importance of the Tachyon/OpAphid rivalry, and Tachyon vs. OpAphid events, to understanding the LG15 story (again, these things do add depth, but they are not essential to the basic plot). I would be happy to discuss the particulars further with you, but I'm sure you'll understand if I ask that we take it to PMs, so as not to clog this thread with further epic posts.

And for everyone else, I hope it's clear that I am not trying to pick on Lurker personally; the post I originally quoted simply did a good job of summarizing the main complaints I've read on this thread. My thanks to Lurker for being such a mature and willing debate partner.

I don't think that they lied either, but for a different reason, probably. I still think the spy vids are vital, but I don't think the Creators realized at the time how important they were going to become. As we know, a lot of this stuff gets made up as they go along.

At the time of OpAphid and Tachyon becoming canon, they really hadn't been all that important. Since then, though, they've become increasingly relevant. I think it was just a case of a bad prediction, rather than an outright lie.
