if they're 24 hours, wait and call them back at like 3AM, you never have to wait at that hour.

I always hate calling customer service... It's crazy... Help the job market out and hire a couple of extra people already!

Department of Labor--last year, my job got bought out so I was able to claim--not much, but it's free money, you know? But a friend told me that he was able to file an extention, so now I'm wondering if I can too. The whole thing is so confusing. I'm on the operator line and it says "please note, if you want to re-open your claim press option 3 to avoid further delays". Now, this IS what I'd like to do, but I want to first find out if I can re-open my claim in the first place. *sigh* I'm so confused.

At the risk of pissing the operator off, I'm staying on the line, even if I am in the wrong place. I don't want it to be the RIGHT place and have to re-wait another 1/2 an hour.

I almost always press 0 (or cuss at it, if it's voice activated) to go to an operator when I'm on one of those stupid systems... Hate 'em... Half the time I follow the prompts correctly, but still wind up in the wrong place...

Exactly. I know I'm going to get pissed off with the operator ANYWAYS, but lets cut out some of the other freaking annoyance with all the damn options. It's so annoying--whenever they change songs they make a noise that sounds like a phone is being picked up and I get all psyched thinking that I'm finally gonna get taken care of. Cheap bastards, messing with my head like that.

Oh... And the music they play... It's no wonder people are irate by they reach a live person... They've usually suffered from an hour of elevator music by then! Argh! I feel for ya!

DONE!! YAY! The operator picked up and I was in the middle of eating and surprised--I almost dropped the phone. In any case, she told me that they haven't filed extentions for anyone in the past 3-4 years, so "my friend" must be confused or something. *sigh* So now I have to call my BF's brother and find out just what the hell he did do.

Gah.

I'll be back later, y'all. I'm gonna finish my lunch and my phone calls. Sigh.
