"For someone who supposedly lost his parents at a young age, Jonas just plain sucks at handling Bree's grief. If he really did go through that, why is he so ignorant about what Bree is dealing with?"
I don't think that's right. People respond in all different ways - in my family, some of us were angry and agitated and full of energy, and some were deflated and defeated and just needed to lay still or cry. Different people, different needs depending on when you catch them. Jonas may be trying to apply the style of help that he would find comforting, to Bree's situation.
Also, people who want to help someone who's grieving may very well be (unconsciously) doing it as much for themselves. When someone says, "I feel so bad for you," take that literally: if you feel bad, you do something to make yourself feel better. If Jonas feels bad for Bree because she's undergone this trauma, then the way to make himself better is for her to "feel better," for the trauma to go away. So he comes in the "fix" things - as much to help himself feel better as to help her feel better.
It's takes concentration and effort to comfort someone without trying to "fix" things in an extreme situation like that. And since Jonas has a history of being "too nice" and desperately wanting to please everybody, he probably wants Bree acting happier/healthier because it will make him feel better.

Then again if they don't try to help and she thinks hes dead and stuff then shes gonna dwell foreverrrr (not really but you know what I mean) and theres gonna be like no videos. Lol.ViolinAddict wrote:That's complicated but possible! You know, I'm thinking the order doesn't know how much information Bree now has (neither do we... but, we can assume it's significantly overwhelming.)girlAnachronism wrote:I think that whatever Bree's dad told her is really important right now. I'm wondering if one of his experiments was v. important to the Order, but also dangerous, so he hid it from them and only told Bree of the location. Now they let bree go because they are waiting for her to lead them to it...
okay, yeah, that sounds like some crazy movie...
I think they'll probably go after her next, but the last thing they wanted was both of them escaping TOGETHER. So, they had to go for one?
At least I think right now it seems that they are taking long and then being boring. *sigh*

I'm sure you're right about everyone approaching it differently. But I still have the distinct impression from the video that Jonas is relying more on books than personal experience and actual empathy, which is suspicious to me. I think he does genuinely want to help Bree, but his general reaction makes me question things.
Yeah, but why that for the title? He said a lot of things. When I see numbers I think "hidden meaning". maybe too much Tach/Op?Kasdeja wrote:He mentioned that...
The event of Bree's dad getting shot...he said something to the effect that he watched that 45 seconds over and over...
edit: he says he can't believe all that happened in only 45 seconds, I believe. I'd have to re-watch.

Jonas's explanation for how his parents disappeared being so lame and unconvincing...his inability to help her just by relating to Bree on a personal level without books to help him (despite supposedly suffering a similar heartbreak), his constant dropping of Tachyon references...I think those who feel there is a bit more to Jonas than meets the eye are correct.
He might just care about people. The same reason why you would try to rescue a stranger and maybe feel bad about hesitating when you think of what could have happened because you hesitated.cbizzle44 wrote:i know me too. like "how long have you known her? and you feel bad for HESITATING before risking your life to save her?" wow.laurenesque wrote:Jonas' first instinct was to protect someone he's known for a few weeks at best? girlAnachronism wrote:how did Jonas know it was called the "Zapruder film"? I know it as "President Kennedy's assasination tape" or something like that. By knowing the filmer's name indicates that Jonas is either history of film buff, or that he has referenced this film occasionally. Perhaps, while alone at home, he got involved in conspiracy theorist websites?
Okay, that's probably way off the boat...
Well yeah, Because I think most people know it as the Zapruder film.
Well.......I do.....

Jonas' reference to the Zapruder film seemed very appropriate to me (I was born in the 1950's). I've heard that reference used in that same manner when someone analyzes a film to death, "like that Zapruder film."
I asked my teenaged kids if they have heard of it and they said, "No." So for Jonas to make that reference, he must be a real history buff.

Yeah I agree! I think he's dead, but hey, it is LG15, anything can happen.hehekayokosaeki wrote:get realistic, people. just a little bit.
yes, just because you're shot doesn't mean you're dead. but if someone shoots you at close range to the point that you are on the ground, not fighting back or trying to run/crawl away, and can be lifted and put into a trunk without a hassle, chances are they got you in the gut or head which are usually fatal. to top it off, most people do not survive in trunks for much longer than 18 hours? or so says the last episode of NCIS......
second. i think jonas says he hesitated just because it didn't look like anyone was chasing after bree. if i started after her and saw she was running away without a chase behind her, i'd stop too and not get any closer to the enemy. i'd hop back in the car and start the engine.
Well and um maybe the order knows something, like maybe they have something waiting for Bree.
Oh and maybe they already had plans on how to reach Bree and her father was ruining it and maybe knew too much so...he had to be "taken care of".
Just wanted to say that lighting can make your hair maybe look a little different.Yeah, but Lucy's hair looks darker in THAT video clip than we know it really is. "Blonde" is a subjective term. I have a friend who's hair is light brown, she calls herself a blonde.
So I really think it's just Lucy.
"oh you lucy...always stirring trouble, kiddo" haha wtf
About the Zapruder issue: I'm 17 years old, and I'm familiar with the film, as well as the name Zapruder. I've seen it referenced before on television, I've viewed it online, and it was discussed in my history class last year. So I think its plausible for a person in their late teens or early twenties to be passingly familiar with the film without being a full blown history buff.
The only problem I have with Jonas, and his "mental exercise". Is that if you have mental problems yourself. You may not be the best person to try and deal with another's. I speak from experience there. It may be me, but he seems ditant in a strange way. Not the I lost my parents kinda way and understand what she is going through(<---- run on sentence here). There are still a lot of things that dont add up. Bree's parent's...teh Order, Gemma, and Jonas. He hesitated, for what? Fear, did he have something to do with his parents disappearance? Hmmm thing's that make you go HMMM... ....I dont know, there is still a lot to be seen I guess.
If you don't like it. All I can tell you to do is, get over it!
Did anyone feel like Jonas was acting suspicious of Bree? I felt like his comment about hesitation, as well as discussing that they weren't interested in Bree at all, made me feel like he's got some notion that Bree is part of everything, or at least not telling them something.
Just me maybe?
That's it for my post of the month.
