My wife's entire family, both sides, has it. She was diagnosed with it when she was 21. It's been pretty difficult for her to keep it controlled, but it normally is when she wears her insulin pump

(which is most of the time. Every now and then she'll get frustrated and leave it off for part of a day. Not enough to let her sugars to get way out of whack)

Yeah. We went home and I threw away all the candy we got for Christmas. His family has it real bad...he's had grandparents who have died from it...his mom is suffering REAL bad from it...its just insane. He needs to take care of it now. If he loses weight he can get rid of it. He's only 23.
