So basically her "brainwashers" fed her that line to tell her not to be around Daniel?Mirage wrote:Hmm....okay, in my searches I came up with this PDF page-- http://www.calvarycch.org/newbeginnings ... another%22
Whoever wrote this used the story that Bree used about the two oxen one stronger than another yada yada yada to explain a bible passage--II Corinthians 6:14-15: Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness?

That's how I'd interpret it. But for some reason it doesn't totally "jive" with me, y'know? Maybe it's because I've never thought of Bree's religion as Christian in any sense of the word. So why would she be refrencing a Christian allegory/story/whatever? Maybe I'm reading wayyyyyy too deeply into this!Luv2Luvem wrote:So basically her "brainwashers" fed her that line to tell her not to be around Daniel?Mirage wrote:Hmm....okay, in my searches I came up with this PDF page-- http://www.calvarycch.org/newbeginnings ... another%22

Two obeservations I made watching this Video. Might be irrelevant but who knows with this thing so thought I would put them up.
1 - Bree does not seem that upset about Daniel Following her. She seems to almost add it in as an after thought.
I know that if I found out that someone I knew was watching/following me, I would be mega upset and let them have it with both barrels.
2 - In the story about the oxen (apart from the obvious reference to going around in circles) she basically says one was stronger than the other. If Bree & Daniel are the two Oxen then, Does she see herself as the stronger one of the two?

The ultimate faith in her religion(ie--she believes she is right)? We've never seen anything about Daniel's religion...I'd be interested to see (CREATORS! HINT HINT!) what exactly it is that he believes.minsky wrote:2 - In the story about the oxen (apart from the obvious reference to going around in circles) she basically says one was stronger than the other. Tell ya what, she aint looking too strong in this video, that's for sure. She is definately looking pale and has some dark circles under her eyes.

Is this supposed to mean that "Lucy" was telling her a "Christian" story? Or at least one with a Christian message? Because if it turns out that Bree is in some kind of "Christian cult" that also follows the teachings of Aleister Crowley, then that is scary.......even scarier than I thought.......lol

well, from what I understand about many regigions that aren't "Christian" the bible is still considered sacred text....and while it does tell the story of "jesus" it also tells tales of the devil.. so it doesn't suprise me at all if they use the bible. Plus, that could also be a draw for the religion...like "how can we be a bad thing, we read the bible too" sort of attitude....

Or perhaps meaning that two people with two different beliefs should be separate.....which sounds like discrimination to me.....Jengels2002 wrote:If the Biblical reference holds true, I think they are referring to the stronger ox being the believer and the weaker ox is the non-believer.
Meaning...do not match up or yoke up believers and non-believers.
This link reveals a couple of other interesting points that relate to my above post.Mirage wrote:Hmm....okay, in my searches I came up with this PDF page-- http://www.calvarycch.org/newbeginnings ... another%22

1- John 13-14 Jesus being Teacher and lord (vs.13) and lord and teacher (vs.14) Demonstrates serventhood we are "dutybound" to wash each others feet.
2 - John 13 VS 16 A servant is NOT greater than his master

That's a good point. I didn't think of that. But if Daniel is convinced that her religion is "wierd" or whatever, wouldn't Bree mention the "how can we be a bad thing, we read the bible too" thing to him?sungurl wrote: well, from what I understand about many regigions that aren't "Christian" the bible is still considered sacred text....and while it does tell the story of "jesus" it also tells tales of the devil.. so it doesn't suprise me at all if they use the bible. Maybe she did say something like that to him, but after the "summer camp" he knew better.Mirage wrote:That's a good point. I didn't think of that.
