lol!! I can happily say that I was never taught that people should wait on my hand and foot...I was taught that how to be a good "housewife" and mother...which I'm perfectly ok with!

Yeah, that's true too, Jess. I was taught all that domesticity stuff.. How the most "important job a woman can do is to be a mother."

But it's the "helplessness" I'm talking about.. no one ever showed me how to check my oil or tires, or how to fix a tire.. none of that.

Hmmm yeah I know what you mean...most of my friends don't know how to do any of that...but I was taught all that stuff when I was younger in Girl Scouts of all places, but then again I was still in D.C. then lol We actually had an "auto repair" badge lol

WHOA Krig!!

I'm TOTALLY impressed with all you can do. When I have had a flat tire, I do three things. (1) Lock all my doors and hide (2) Cry (3) Call my daddy.

Oh that's neat, Jess!

Girl Scouts and also the 4-H'ers learn lots of practical things. I was never a part of either one.

I was raised with all that "properness," but I was no debutante or anything like that. I went to private school with a slew of them, though!!

My dad kind of raised me like a boy, so I can fix/build a lot of things! I can also survive in the jungle for quite some time...
