Found the below on this site
http://www.christiancrafters.com/christ_centered.html
It reads
Take my yoke upon my shoulders and learn from me for I am gentle and humble of heart. Your souls will find rest, for my soul is easy and my burden is light. (Mathew 11:29,30)
Not my writting below it is from the site.
Most of you are unaware of yoking bullock/oxen to plough because you have mechanized farming instruments. From my experience in India I have seen that ploughing is hard work. The two oxen are yoked together to this plough and they bear this all day long as the farmer used them to plough the land. If we had two inexperienced oxen you might have brute strength but all you would end up is bruises, as you needed to pull together to make the work easier. What the farmer does when he has inexperienced oxen is that it yokes it to an experienced ox and it shows the new oxen the easiest way through the day. Probably in Jesus’ day they had plough’s similar to this hence used this analogy for letting us know that if we yoked ourselves to Christ he would get us through life, that he would teach us the right way to shoulder life’s burdens.

I'm not a bible person. Is this refering to Jesus dying for people's sins? Do you think Bree is going to die and knows it? Maybe that's why she was worried about the Equinox being the last thing she could do with her parents before the ceremony. Of course, I doubt that. If I knew I was about to die I'd be out getting wasted and getting laid or something.

Yeah, that's the reference that immediately popped into my mind when I saw the video. I've heard it explained both in Hebrew school and in Christian contexts in virtually the same terms Bree used in her two-oxen story. Besides the "going nowhere because the cart goes in a circle" point, the rest of the idea I've heard is that, if one animal is able to pull harder than the other, the stronger one will eventually wear out from carrying the weaker one's load; in the end, the stronger animal weakens to the other animal's level, and the weaker never strengthens. (Hence the idea of "unequally yoked.") The point is that you should always have two weak animals OR two strong animals, but never one of each.
I'd never heard of it used in a racist sense, but now that you mention it, I can vaguely see how sick creeps could twist it that way. Makes me mad, as well. The more healthy interpretations I've heard just say that when we're doing major work or important things, it's important to pair ourselves with people at about our same level of expertise or insight or whatever. Makes a bit more sense when it's a non-judgemental "take" like that.
I kind of get the impression, though, that Bree's "Lucy" is probably using the ox parable as a way to promote separatism, in the sense of "Daniel is not Of Us, so can only take you off course." Meaning that if it's Daniel's fault that Bree has been going around in circles, then if she ditches him, her religious "cart" will start going "straight" again.
Because that interpretation walks such a fine line between creepy and common sensical, my feeling is that this video is probably the coolest so far, psychologically speaking. On the one hand, who hasn't had to learn to see some friends as the kind that just drag one down or keep one from achieving the best possible self? But on the other hand, how easy would it be to use that same rationale to become totally cut off from alternate experiences and ways of seeing the world? Like I say, sensible on the one hand, creepy on the other.
I read it as Follow your master/leader/superior (in this case Jesus, in Bree's case who knows) and they will guide the way or show you the right path. This thing is doing my head in. Hmm. This video is making me doubt the creativity of the creators. She basically ruined all the CiW theories by saying Cassie was a former friend. I know CiW and LG15 supposedly aren't connected but i liked the dark direction CiW pointed us in. Also- LUCY? what kind of name is that, it makes me feel like I'm reading a childrens book. What a seemingly innocent/boring name for a "helper". I dunno, it for some reason makes me feel like "Lucy is the best name they could come up with?!"

Oh! Also, what is the deal with Bree's calm little afterthought of Daniel at the end of the video. Did she forget he was stalking her ass. I mean, he only followed you and filmed you during your secret ceremony practice. Don't get mad or anything.

Well this is little naive trusting Bree...I don't think it would occur to her that Daniel would actually mean her harm. (Even I don't believe that he would)Raspberry wrote:Oh! I think she must know that he's only doing it because he's concerned. It's not like he jumped out of her bushes and tried to kill her or anything. He might do that laterRaspberry wrote:Oh! Ok, I'm just gonna put this out there. I've posted somewhere else that I have a theory about the timing conserning Cassie and LG & Dan....I won't go into it here, but I just want to say that if I'm right, Cassie should change her profile to something different tommorow...and if she doesn't then there will be a very short Daniel vid.
