o.O That's odd. I just went to Youtube to see what the cliffhanger you guys are talking about is, and I can't get to it. I got this:
This is a private video. If you have been sent this video, please make sure you accept the sender's friend request.
Maybe a bid to stem the flow of crappy comments they get over there? But I don't see any pending friend invites or anything. Hm.
Anyone else get this?

Free will vs. determinism... interesting...
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will:
And her mom decided that everything her dad said was wrong - so she's pro-free will... and the "sad little characters" spent all their time arguing about the inevitability of their fate instead of actually doing something.
Er... time to do something. BUT WHAT?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_will:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Determinism:The problem of free will is the problem of whether human beings exercise control over their own actions and decisions. Addressing this problem requires understanding the relation between freedom and causation, and determining whether or not the laws of nature are causally deterministic.
Hmm...So her dad was arguing that since the characters die, nothing they do matters - that's determinism, or at least that's not free will.Determinism is the philosophical proposition that every event, including human cognition and action, is causally determined by an unbroken chain of prior occurrences. No mysterious miracles or wholly random events occur.

I think it's a Cassie reference, more specifically Cassie Is Watching.
The main things that lead me to believe this references Cassie Is Watching are:
I posted a thread about it on the Cassie Is Watching forum for anyone else who wants to discuss this aspect of the "How My Parents Met" video.
Link to the thread: Cassie = Rosencrantz/Guildenstern RE: LG How My Parents Met
The main things that lead me to believe this references Cassie Is Watching are:
- 1. "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" being about secondary characters briefly seen/mentioned in Shakespeare's Hamlet.
2. "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" being a FAN FICTION spin-off of the characters created by Shakespeare. The play was written by Tom Stoppard in 1967.
3. "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" being popular with both fans of Shakespeare and non-fans alike.
4. The mention of "Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead" being entirely about the inevitably of the character's fates being their focus...
5. The discussion between Bree's parents about the focus on that inevitably prohibiting a character from becoming anything more than the sum of their fate. This would be saying that the character of Cassie has been reduced to one who is entirely focused on her demise, rather than anything else of merit or backstory. But granted, she is SUCH a Cassandra (Greek tragedy reference for fellow drama nerds--sorry).

I agree, as I mentioned the other day I still have a feeling this religion is more matriachal based.Broken Kid wrote:I think this is setting up Bree's mom to be a much more important figure. All along, we thought it was the dad, but perhaps her mom's going to be the one who is leading Bree into something, and maybe her dad will save her... all random theories...
It definatly looks like a bottle in front of the picture. A Tall, slim one with what looks like a silver cap. It looks to have a label on it. Impossble to make out.
She stil has nail polish on.

I definitely see a bottle or something on the left side although it doesn't cover the picture with that guy, which seems to have gotten much more conspicuous. Interesting. Maybe they did some witchcraft to change itS is for Summer wrote:I noticed the picture thing too. I'm not seeing the bottle in front of it, though; it just looks like the girl (I think girl) who was in the middle is either moved over a good deal or gone.
I'll poke at it some more and maybe do some screen caps for comparison (if I do, I'll post 'em). Might be nada, but it's one of those things that'll bug me, you know?
Edit:
Here they are. I can't see anything actually sitting in front of the picture to distort it, but the picture is definitely distorted. I don't know enough about how images bend/change based on being seen through curved glass to guess, really. Dunno, mon. But here are the pictures, anyway.
I can't see why they would change the actual photo (and have it still be believable to the people in the story - "HOLY SMOKES MAN THIS PICTURE OF SO AND SO CHANGED!" hee.) so it must be something sitting in front of it distorting it, I just honestly can't see anything there.[/img]

You know, looking at it now I can see what might be a bottle, with a cap, but where I can see it doesn't cover where the woman in the center would be. Where'd she go?lonelygirl wrote:I definitely see a bottle or something on the left side although it doesn't cover the picture with that guy, which seems to have gotten much more conspicuous. maybe its like on back to the future where the people from the photos disappear when something happens to them. (well when time is altered in the movie) but u know what i mean....lol, just a kooky thoughtS is for Summer wrote:You know, looking at it now I can see what might be a bottle, with a cap, but where I can see it doesn't cover where the woman in the center would be. i see the bottle, but in comparison with the other photos... you are right, the middle person seems to be gone
