I'd like to point out that both ladron121 (a notable drop specialist) and tiltingwindward (a distiguished operator) have both voiced reasonable arguments suggesting that this is not a drop video.
Further conjecture as to whether this video is a drop video is pointless. The two people I just mentioned are confident that it is not one.
If anyone has any data that should indicate otherwise, let them place it here. Otherwise, it would be useful to stop. We are cluttering up the topic.
For all of you who are returning, welcome back! Please look at the new Rules and Regulations about posting in this area. Also, the AphidPedia is an excellent resource to catch up with.
Thanks! Enjoy!

Okay, ApotheosisAZ, I have now realized how silly of me it was to start to question these people. I only just started playing the game today (although I have some background info, and I recently read "Everything you Need to Know to Play OpAphid"), so I bow to superior judgement. No drop.
We all have a Danielbeast inside of us.
ok guys, I certainly didn't mean to start another heated discussion by posting the location on the forum. I did it because it was possible. This video is really explicit location wise. It gives us many clues, and for anyone who knows LA, the road map leading to the building is easy to read through the video. It took me only 5 minutes to locate the building. I don't know why this video is so location specific, but I never said it was a drop video and someone had to rush there. However, I agree with Betty, it's interesting to follow the clues (from a distance) just to see where they're leading. There is no conjecture about it being a drop video or not, it's definitely not, but we can still look at why they're showing us what they're showing us. I just wanted to share.
Now, if the mods think it's not relevant and shouldn't be on the forum and they just have to remove it all. I will still be looking further into the video material that they provide us with.

It is important at this point that this valid concern be addressed publicly.impulse wrote:Now, if the mods think it's not relevant and shouldn't be on the forum and they just have to remove it all. I will still be looking further into the video material that they provide us with.
Certainly, the mods on the board have the power to do exactly as impulse suggests here. Should they do so? Of course not.
My post above does not point out impulse having revealed the location of the building. It does not point out anyone's posts.
It is written in the interest of the safety and well-being of all concerned: both the players and the people in the area of the location. This game is structured. Safety has been factored in. Yet, someone might get the notion that they should run headlong searching for a drop that isn't there, and by doing so, they might be unsafe.
We can't all just assume that when an operator or a moderator posts information that it is a finger-pointing exercise. We are genuinely concerned for the well-being of all participants.

I just want to duck in here and say that I felt like this discussion was actually one of the better ones I've had on these forums in the last couple of months. Everyone was (mostly ) on topic, with interesting, relevant things to say, and with evidence to back up their claims. If we can replicate this pattern, then when a real drop or puzzle comes along, we'll have no problems. Thanks guys!
(sorry if that sounded horribly corny...but I really do mean it. )

I do not think the airport is Los Angeles Airport...
To me it looks like a place called Long Beach Municipal
You can see where the trees that are in the edges of the video are and it seems to be at the right angle to the landing strip plus puts the control tower in the right spot.. LA airport I could find no spots where there were trees beside the runway, also when I zoomed in on this one you can faintly make out a barbed wire fence
The marker in the distance marks where the control tower is which looks like this
Coming from this airport it would be possible for Tachy to pass the oil fields (it would still be somewhat of an awkward route but no backtracking invoved)
