Vote 'mute in '08! - because Paris Hilton and P. Diddy will both talk about it for months without acctually doing it themselves.

Spacie,......Uh.....maybe we should rethink the Caligula themed reception.Languorous Lass wrote:Um . . . thejyav -- what Caligula did with horses was . . . let's say a different kind of "riding." Can you say "Catherine the Great"?thejyav wrote:what? i didn't mean it in a creepy way
Thanks Lass,Languorous Lass wrote:
Oh -- this story is for Rob. It's about how Henry Rollins wants to live in "the Northern Virginia exurbs," but his career has him stuck in LA. He used to live in another DC suburb called Ballston, but he left when it was overrun by Sting fans.
Isn't he a cutie? (For a boy, that is.)
That's the first photo I've seen anyone post where he looks his age, but he still looks good, for a "boy" that is.
That was an interesting story, especially the photos.

To be honest, I was never that big of a fan of Black Flag, I just happened to be in the same place and time when that scene was happening.
I caught a few of their shows, one was at Santa Monica Civic where they played with the Minutemen, and a few others including an acoustic show at Al's Bar, if you can imagine Black Flag doing an acoustic show. They would occasionally do unannounced shows there on a off night when they wanted to play for a smaller crowd.
Al's bar was one of my main hang outs in LA, the regulars were a mixed group of puckrockers, downtown artists, and general misfits.
Which brings me to a real trip, for me at least, the story on Henry Rollins inspired me to do a Google search for Al's Bar, and I stumbled on to a website for a photographer who was part of the scene, and was photo documenting it at the time. He has photos up on his site of Al's Bar and the American Hotel, which was above it. It was really strange to see the old faces again after all these years. I just wish he had more photos up. He did a photo shoot of me once. I emailed him, it will be interesting to see if he remembers me.

PS Newt just emailed me back, he does remember me.

HA! Why, does bestiality scare you or something? Geez, you're so uptight. j/krobtomorrow wrote:Spacie,......Uh.....maybe we should rethink the Caligula themed reception.Languorous Lass wrote:Um . . . thejyav -- what Caligula did with horses was . . . let's say a different kind of "riding." Yeah...I'm suprised I remember as much as I do. I never liked Black Flag either, by the way. My interests at the time were of a more digital, candy raver variety.Kasdeja wrote:I pretty much don't remember much of that time period...
Me and my key...same as it ever was.
