its not nu, i think. i'm pretty sure nu just looks like an N and lowercase its a v.McPackage wrote:So the latest note from Tachyon seems to suggest that what we thought were an omicron and pi could be incorrect.
So if we're not seeing an omicron here, I'm guessing it's a phi.
And if we're not seeing a pi here, then similar to the mu on the other symbol, this may be a nu. After all, if looks like , then could look like
as far as phi, i thought it was at first but the general concensus went the other way. also, phi doesn't generally have that extra line at the top, right? gah. i think you are right, however. these may not be what we thought.

omicron: sideways theta Θ , phi Φ, qoph (if obsolete letters are in play as well)
pi: maybe two iotas? ιι

The letter Heth could be a candidate.
Both the Hebrew and and Aramaic look good, but the Phoenician letter which "gave rise to the Greek Eta (Η)" doesn't fit.
Well, that's only Wikipedia. Maybe there is more elsewhere.

alright i'm going to try to run through a list of possible replacement for omicron and pi [and try to give reasons why maybe not too]
this is all based on the concept that they are all greek letters
all can be seen on: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Greek_alphabet
The non-Omicron:
Phi ~ knock against this would be it does not have any real correlation back to egyptian hieroglyph [like the others do]. the greeks just made up a new consonant
Qoppa - in old egyptian means monkey [or possible meaning of head and neck] ~ knock against this would be its an obsolete letter, dont know if that has any bearing
Omega - hieroglyph of an eye ~ knock against this is it has the same meaning as omicron and doesnt really fit the circle mold
The non-Pi:
Nu - hieroglyph for the snake ~ knock is it doesnt fit the bill real well [but Mu isnt perfect either]
Lowercase Eta - hieroglyph for courtyard ~ knock is none of the others were in lowercase greek [and uppercase doesnt fit well]

Quick update: I moved all of the posts (about a page and a half) speculating about the interpretation of Pi and Theta to "[DISCUSSION] A new theory about symbols," because they fit better there than in this thread, which is about the images. Please feel free to continue your discussion over there. Thanks!

I said that the phantom pics look like screen shots of past episodes.raindown wrote:I scrolled through all 18 pages but seen no one mention it,
and it's just a pretty wild guess, but when I looked at the pictures' background ALL I COULD SEE was a screenshot from Gemma's video, 'Bad Desicions', in which there was a dying rose on the left corner of the screen.
Well looked at it, and it's just the thing on the left that looks like a dying rose. as for the rest, I dunno.

I thought it was a combination Tau and phi. Just like theta and mu were combined before.KelQuelle wrote:its not nu, i think. i'm pretty sure nu just looks like an N and lowercase its a v.McPackage wrote:So the latest note from Tachyon seems to suggest that what we thought were an omicron and pi could be incorrect.

Just let me think for a bit.
ok, so the 76th vid. is the one were db gets breakfast for bree. this is the first time that we see someone with the watcher symbol. the next vid is gemma, explaining the symbol. she said that she found an "ancient text" at the library with a pic of a body with symbols all over it and that the watcher symbol was the one on the hand.
Could there be some of these other symbols on that "ancient pic" that we could use and ID?

That's quite interesting how it ties in with the series. Maybe we should look more into this since a lot of times people wonder about the male/female hierarchy of the Order.OpIvy wrote:Not sure if this will help at all but..
CIRCLE with a DOT (BINDU) in the center: In the complex symbolic system of Hinduism and Buddhism, the bindu (dot) represents the male force. Together, the circle and the bindu symbolize the merging of male and female forces.
I like that alot.trainer101 wrote:Perhaps the symbols refer to perspective. The three legged "Watcher" symbol refers to someone who watches from afar - a third party perspective.
The two-legged symbol would pertain to someone who has direct contact with the target - in this case, Jonas with Bree.
Possibly, a watcher symbol with one leg would be Daniel, or maybe even Bree - the object itself?
