A bit contrived, but understandable

Clues. Theories. Where do you think the story is headed?

Ok, so the whole thing about Jonas' family being anti-Order seems a bit contrived, although I do like it better than him being WITH the Order, because that would have been overdoing it. However, it would have been best for him to be unfiliated in any way and just an ordinary guy. That said, I can understand why they did it. It would be the only way to dispell fan suspicion of him once and for all.

I think it puts more suspicion on him than ever before, since it seems more likely than not that he must have known something about the Order or the movement to fight it when he asked Bree to come live with him.

Otherwise, yes, it would seem badly contrived.

I agree w/Lurker. it makes him more suspicious. However I think it would be awesome if Bree turned out to be w/the order and the order was really just after DB.

I had a thought that he could've been brought up by Brees "parents" as well, then they were "killed off" to take care of her. They raised him to be anti Order (or to become such later in life) while raising Bree to be all for the Order. Maybe it was all a plot to dispand the Order or something?

I have never thought of it this way... now that you mention, she was the first one to want to go to Jonas' house...

Yes, but she was a girl who was used to a cushy lifestyle, and was reduced to eating out of garbage cans and trash bins (garbage de jour? lol) and sleeping in open, rat-infested abandoned buildings. I think Jonas would have felt like the only option to any spoiled 16 year-old girl (or was she 17 at the time?) in her position.

I agree. I would have liked it better if he was just an ordinary joe. But, how would he have proved he wasn't with the order then?

I think they are bringing Jonas to a whole new level...I've always believed that in a way, he was to represent us all here on the forums. If majority of us here are anti-Order, then it would make sense if Jonas would be too. It leaves out some speculation. But I still insist that if Jonas' family was anti-order, he SHOULD know more than he does. Afterall, his parents died when he was what--13? He should have some memories of them writing or speaking to him about the Order.

well...he did say that his parents were always away, and that he rarely got to see them, hence the nanny.
Its very possible that they didn't want him to know what they did. To keep im safe.

So if that is true, and the order did have a hand in their deaths...is it possible that they did not know about Jonas' exsistance? Because if they did...

don't you think they wouldn't have chanced it and killed him as well....

It's obvious that Jonas knows more than he's telling, because it's just too much of a coincidence that he extended the invitation to Bree and Daniel, and then his parents turn out to be anti-Order? No way.

Lurker posted this first in the video section, but he just beat me to posting it. :)

I think it is plausable that his parents didn't tell him anything. If you were involved in something dangerous it would be best to keep your child out of it. You might teach them to be catious (not trust strangers, etc.) but to keep your kids ignorant is best. Kids are not good at keeping secrets. They can give things away without meaning to. Keeping people ignorant in certain circumstances can be a means of protecting them.

Yes, but in this case it still doesn't explain the invitation by Jonas for B&D to stay with him, him acting like he didn't know anything about the Order, and then suddenly his parents are anti-Order. That's just too far-fetched to even suspend disbelief.

Jonas knows more than he is telling, for whatever reason.
