[MESSAGE TO ADMINS] A Request Regarding The New Layout
I think a lot of people are behind me in asking, Can we PLEASE go back to two Cassieiswatching boards? Things were so much easier with CASSIE and NOT CASSIE. There was no confusion about whether something is a "Puzzle" or an "Update", or maybe a "Meta" (wtf is that anyway?) or even an "Interaction." We've only had the new listings for a day, and already I have seen many instances of flaming for posts in the wrong section.
People are confused about why their threads were moved to one section or another, and a whole chunk of threads seems to have completely disappeared. There wasn't really a problem with the way things were before, so why did it have to change?
Here's a suggestion. Go back to CASSIE and NOT CASSIE, lump all of the threads together, and post requirements for posting. If it's off-topic, make people write [RAMBLINGS] or [RANDOM STUFF] or even [OFF TOPIC] in their subject line. If it's a post about Cassie logging into YouTube or Frank posting on his blog, it should include [CASSIE (or FRANK) ACTIVITY] in the subject. If it's about a new morse code message, it should say [MORSE CODE PUZZLE] and then the date. If it's an anagram, tell people to write [ANAGRAM PUZZLE].
My point is, there are ways to keep the threads seperate without making everything have its own specific place and getting angry when people post it in the wrong spot.
So please, can we switch it back? It was a decent idea, but it doesn't seem to be working.
Thank you for your attention to this problem.

Even with every single thread properly tagged with [Puzzle] or [Meta] or anything else, there are simply far too many threads for all of the Cassie discussion to go on in one place. Something posted just an hour ago can be pushed back to the second page. It was chaos.
My suggestion is to give this new system more than just one day to see if people can get used to it. Personally I think it's already worked very well. We may tweak it as we go here, but this setup is the tried-and-tested method with an ARG. Give it a chance.

The only more appropriate place I can think to put the Kelrast threads would be in Spinoffs, but since he's just a user of the boards who probably isn't actually trying to get all of this attention I'd leave it under Meta.
I know you guys won't likely agree with that, but we never put unconfirmed people involved in CiW anywhere but Spinoffs. In my opinion Kelrast isn't connected, but that opinion has nothing to do with why the threads are under Meta.
I hope that makes sense.

Just to throw in my two cents, I appreciate the effort made to keep everything in order. There are pros and cons to the new layout, but in general it works as well as anything else. The problem is that CiW has outgrown the abilities of phpBB, and the mods and admins are doing what they can to accommodates us. Again, I appreciate the effort (and if you guys need a hand, I'm usually logged in more than the mods are. Sad, isn't it? )

Perhaps you didn't actually read the thread. It discusses ONLY cassie is watching based on the posts of Kelrast. It does NOT state (in spite of ravengrace's reply) that Kalrast need be Cassies shill. But, seriously, if he were, would Cassie confirm him?Hodabes wrote:The only more appropriate place I can think to put the Kelrast threads would be in Spinoffs, but since he's just a user of the boards who probably isn't actually trying to get all of this attention I'd leave it under Meta.

There is nothing discussed in the thread (except by the mod) that is not pertinent to simply solving the puzzles. Whether Kerast is simply very insightful or helping Cassie is not the point.
The annoying thing here is not really where the thread is - but that as moderators you guys (actually with the exception of twj) feel that your opinion on things should be superior, even when it turns out you are wrong. Regardless - put it where you want, I just won't bother updating or posting to it.
