Hymn of One
Uh…yeah, this is her religion. It seems chockfull of orders and levels and other sinister arms. Uh...yeah...
I hope you realize that I suck.::The finest satire is that in which ridicule is combined with so little malice and so much conviction that it even rouses laughter in those who are hit.-Georg Christoph Lichtenberg
We've found about 4-5 possibilities so far of what this means in the video forum of this section. It's exciting. I love researching.

I'm confused. How's the Order of Denderah fit in to this?
ETA: I just got back from DB's "Aleister Crowley" video where he talks about Denderah, Crowley, and Hathor and I'm more confused than ever.
Someone is going to have to dumb this down for me.

I don't even know what the Order of Denderah is. It was mentioned a few times then dropped completely. I thought that was her parent's religion... like you said elsewhere, this is not the place to look for consistency.

I'm guessing that the Order of Denderah is a level within 'the Order' or at least a level within the "Hymn of One". Bree's mom was supposedly recruited by the Hymn of One yet was not a member of the "Order of Denderah". I'm guessing the 'OoD' would have been Bree's level upon completion of the ceremony. How high that is, I do not know, but it appears to be extremely important to a whole lot of people.immortal1 wrote:I'm confused. How's the Order of Denderah fit in to this?

According to psudo-reliable Internet sources, Denderah was an actual town in Egypt with a Greco-Roman temple complex. As Bree mentions in the videos, one of these temples is home to an ancient depiction of the zodiac symbols, similar to those used today.
I haven't had time to thoroughly read the sources on The Hymn of One, but it seems to have its roots in Egyption goddess worship.

How about we approach this from a different tack. Let's assume the religion is a shill as Bree says. That means the religious references probably don't have anything to the Order itself. Let's assume also that this thread is for constructing the fake religion so that we can gain insight into Bree's psyche.
That means the ceremony is undoubtedly the link between the Order and the fake religion. Something about that ceremony could/would alter Bree's perceptions of the Order and ...bring her into the fold? Maybe?
Bree talks about her mother showing a radical change around the time she met her husband-to-be. Could her mother have gone through the ceremony too?

Not if anything that has been said so far holds true. And I am working on the assumption that it does, for some reason.mincartaugh wrote:How about we approach this from a different tack. There are only a hand full of girls who are "special" or whatever and chosen for the ceremony. Also, unless I am mistaken, they have to be of a certain age.
I forget. Bree explains it in one of those videos from Jonas' after her father died.

The Denderah info is correct (there's an image of the Denderah zodiac in my Tachyon video from the temple). BUT, when I poke around looking for info on the Hymn of One, I find ties to the Byzantine Empire (ancient Rome) rather than Egypt. Garnet, can you provide any links?janesalteredstates wrote:Whoa, where'd you get that?garnet wrote: I haven't had time to thoroughly read the sources on The Hymn of One, but it seems to have its roots in Egyption goddess worship.

Same here Trainer. Only the Byzantine pops up. I did find one link that mentioned Egypt, but all it said was that the Byzantine empire had contact with Egypt.trainer101 wrote:The Denderah info is correct (there's an image of the Denderah zodiac in my Tachyon video from the temple). I've sent an email to the email address listed on hymnofone.com in the voice of someone looking for religion asking for more information. I'm sure I'm not alone in having done this. Will post more if and when I get it.
I think someone should check the domain registration date for that website. I will do it if no one else does!
