What do you do for a living

Post by rachelalexis »

So, simple question. Since we have so many older people on here (really, I'm shocked at how many of us are well over the age that Bree claims to be!) this could be interesting.

I myself am a graduate student. This explains why I'm on here so much, even if I am only lurking half the time. I just moved to a new city to start school, and am finally getting aware enough of what's going on that I've started job searching. I'm hoping for a no responsibility little thinking job, hopefully someplace like a bookstore (so I can get a discount, wee!)

I'm changing my major from biology to literature and linguistic.

Unbeliveably complicated process in this country. It takes MONTHS.

Hopefully I'll graduate........ some day.

I am a constant source of disappointment to those who have better opinions of me than I have of myself. Hmm, which is probably about 97% of people who know me. Maybe only 95%?

I'm a grad student and occasional errand boy. I'm working on an MA, but I think I may not try for a PhD. I'm considering leaving the world of academia behind. Bascially, I'm a philosophy student, but I no longer think there are any such things as philosophical problems--it's kind of complicated. :?

I work for a software programmer. Right now I do secretarial type work, but I'm hoping it'll turn into more as I become more familiar with the job (had it for about a month). It's a very interesting job. My boss writes custom software, but the main part of his business is selling handheld lumber inventory management systems.
