I just got home from having lunch in Burbank (California) with a friend. As we left the restaurant, I noticed the planter and thought it looked really nice:

Typical, urban landscaping, I suppose. Then it hit me. I've totally seen part of the design before. Here's a closeup. (Sorry it's my Treo camera...not the greatest):

ok check this out.
the website is suuuper simple, i mean, there's practically nothing there.
so i decided to instead look at what ISN'T there. and i found google-analytic javascript running in the background. a script called urchin.
what wikipedia has to say on the topic
apparently, it keeps track of people that visit your website. where they linked from, how long they stayed, and where in the world they are. now that i think about it, it's probably just put there by the creators to see what there fanbase is like. ten-to-one it's on every canon LG15 page.
you know, that would be a good canon test.. to see if they have that running

and a more rounded version,
the Indian graph for the greeting of peace, and
the state of transcendental consciousness.
peace. usually synonymous with "happiness and freedom from fear and insecurity". interesting.
i think that last is the most likely origin of that logo.
