[Drop Found] East Beast West Beast 4.19.07
Moderator: Moderators
Skunk explained this in the previous drop thread, so I thought it wasn't needed again. It's exactly the same method here. I will use uppercase for the notes and lowercase for the letters to avoid confusion.
Basicaly you start with the low E (first string on the guitar, lowest in the guitar tab) and that equals 1=a and then each semitone/halfstep up is the next number/letter.
The guitar tab shows a number on a string which means which fret of the guitar to press on to play that note (a zero means play an open string). So, if there was a 0 on the lowest line, that would be the low E=1=a, a 1 on that string would be F=2=b, and so forth.
The second string from the bottom is the note A, which is 5 semitones above E (F F# G Ab A) so a zero on that string (the note A) would be 5+1=6=f. The first number on the page is a 1 on that string, thus, it's Bb=7=g.
The next string D is again 5 semitones from A, which was 6. So a zero on that string would be D=6+5=11=k. The second and third numbers in our message are both 4 on that string, which plays the note F#. So F#=11+4=15=o. So there you have the first three letters, 'goo'. You can do the rest, I'm sure.
I want an mp3 for this one, ya hear me Skunk? btw, check this out. They're still using it with the 3rd and 4th notes wrong. (skunk had made a transcription mistake when he made the mp3).

Ok here's a full guitar tab - alphabet table.
Add the number on the string to the corresponding number on the left, then translate using the alphabet table.
Bear in mind that there could be higher numbers used on the strings, in which case you still just add that to the string's open number to get the equivalent letter.

I am always impressed by the sleuths around here
the east beast and west beast makes me think of Daniel of course.
the face with the eyes circled makes me think binoculars. ...
so the red rock maked me think of the red rock ampitheater( my dream concert venue)
and Maddy and these drops seem to be music venue related.
Mr Zipp wants to reach as many people as possible , a large music venue would fill the house
but I am really just rambling
what;s everyone else thinking?
edited for typos

Nice diagram, Deag, thanks for explaining that!deagol wrote:Ok here's a full guitar tab - alphabet table.

I agree, Sparky, great work all!sparkybennett wrote:thanks to all who participated

This makes me wonder if Mr. Zipp, might be "Zipping" from the East coast to the West coast. Certainly seems like he may be moving in that direction, with the first drop in NY, the second in MO, makes sense the next drop could be in CO. And this is why I also agree with your next point:sparkybennett wrote: the east beast and west beast makes me think of Daniel of course.
RedRocks Concert venue is located in Colorado, which is West of MO.sparkybennett wrote: so the red rock maked me think of the red rock ampitheater( my dream concert venue)

We are still working on the drawings. It's late, our brains are fried. Anyone with any ideas please jump in.kellylen wrote:yay im so proud of you guys.
im wondering what all of these drawings mean. it seems to me like they are random :/
So far we are looking at anything music related. Venues (like Red Rock) or bands (like Third Eye Blind) etc.
Any ideas?
It's ALL connected...

Yeah, you got... stuck a fish in the face.
Apparently no one else is awake... haha. It's okay, I'm on the left coast plus I'm a bit of a night owl.
So about the redhead on the right side of the drawing. At first I thought it represented Maddison, but when I started thinking musically I immediately thought of Tori Amos. Then I thought of the lead singer from Garbage. OOOooh or Jenny Lewis (Rilo Kiley).
Didn't Thor (Norse god of thunder) have red hair? Could that be his hammer?
Hmph. This is probably nonsense.
