I don't know if this has already been said, but the blue quality is probably just a product of the image inversion (changing the colors to negative). Since the original hand is pale (but not white) it translates into blue. I.E. take a picture of yourself in photoshop and try an inverted color filter...... looks pretty similar.katz31 wrote:Maybe blue=sad? The angel would be sad because the "cup" being handed to Jesus was his being sacrificed for our sins. Maybe it's a symbol of someone innocent being sacrificed.
In the bible, Jesus and his deciples go into the garden after the last supper. Christ knows what is going to happen and asks them to WAIT with him. They promptly fall asleep. Christ prays to god 3 times asking if he must drink from his CUP alone (ie suffer his fate alone - "drinking from the same cup" means sharing the same fate, comes from the old tradition of kings having a taster who would drink from their cup to test for poison). Between each prayer he goes back to his deciples, they still slept. That's when Christ knew he was to suffer alone without their help.murph25 wrote:Mystery solved! I found the original painting that the chalice comes from. It's by Sebastiano Conca, an Italian painter. It was done in 1746. It is called "Christ in the Garden of Gethsemane". As I suspected, it portrays Christ being visited by an angel prior to his arrest and crucifixion, right after the last supper.
I found it here:

It is a perfect match. The blue coloration must have been a manipulation, because the original version is pale-skinned.
What remains to be seen is whether this means anything to the overall story, or how it fits together with Frank's painting, the cup in the poem, the "garden", etc.
Sounds an awful lot like Frank - he kept asking us to wait with him. He wanted our help but we just slept. He finally accepted his fate alone. *shivers*
The clue :-
The garden where the killer wined
Still holds the cup for you to find
sounds related here.
Rev3 showed Jesus as a killer (Exorcist), and this painting (good find btw) points to the Garden of Gethsemane where Jesus drank from the cup.
So there is a cup in the garden of Gethsemane somewhere
Anything like that around Azusa ? Can't find anything yet in Second Life, but then I have no idea what I am doing.

Gah!
We finally circle back around to Gethsemane, the Garden. anyways... old discussion gone. new discussion.
---
Second point.
If you guys are trying to figure out which picture goes with which poem, I thought we'd already established that.
They were even laid on top of the corresponding pictures.

Sorry, just circles in the endgame is making me blue.
