I was browsing the forums, saw this

and had a bit of a realization. Do they need 12 girls?

Here is a partial list I have researched:
(Thanks Susan, though you may not read this)
(Some help would be useful to fill in the blanks, and the missing girls)
(New Info as updated will be made BOLD so it is easier to find)

I listed the most likely girls here, and the ones I could find any info on.

Interesting thing... I left you, Bree, out of this list for a reason. You are also a Capricorn. I think Jules is your replacement for the "ceremony" since you refused to do it. It is not a matter of which one is the "one", but which ones are they going to use. Chyrsandra may be a 2nd Capricorn replacement if you save Jules, Bree. There are 12 Zodiac signs in this image. 12 zodiac signs = 12 girls.

Coincidence? I think not.

The "ceremony" is larger then we thought, apparently.

Any further research that people could offer on this theory would be
much appreciated.

This seems quite likely, but I believe they would be going by a different zodiac, being as we've got a high basis in egyptian hystory and lore.

So going by the egyptian zodiac, we would have:

Thoth (August 29 - September 27)
Horus (September 28 - October 27)
Wadget (October 28 - November 26)
Sekhmet: (November 27 - December 26)
Sphinx: (December 27 - January 25)
Shu: (January 26 - February 24)
Isis: (February 25 - March 26)
Osiris: (March 27 - April 25)
Amun : (April 26 - May 25)
Hathor: (May 26 - June 24)
Phoenix: (June 25 - July 24)
Anubis (July 25 - August 28 )

I don't know how the girls line up on this zodiac, or even if it's different...I should go look up their birthdays..

" The organisation of the zodiac is not haphazard but also it is not a very accurate astronomical representation. (None of the Egyptian zodiacs were very accurate astronomical representations.) (Like all the Egyptian zodiacs it includes the signs of the zodiac (ultimately of Babylonian origin), the old hour decans, the planets, and native Egyptian stars and constellations.) The astronomical ceiling shows all 12 zodiacal constellations (as well as other constellations, and the planets). It is a syncretistic zodiac based on Egyptian and Greek ideas and is most likely based on a Hellenistic model (i.e., from the use of the zodiacal Ram). The figures of 36 decans (from the Tanis family of decans), indicators of the hours of the night, are depicted standing on the circumference (as walking men, snakes, and other animals) (adjacent to the hands of the supporting figures). The signs of the zodiac are located inside the decan ring and the planets in their exaltations and some constellations are interspersed among them. (The planets are depicted as gods holding staffs.) The northern constellations are in the centre of the disc (and the north celestial pole is approximately at the centre of the disc).

The 12 zodiacal constellations form an inner (and properly offset) ring (and follow a circle that corresponds to the ecliptic). All the 12 zodiac constellations are easily recognizable. The Egyptians, however, have varied the figures and also have varied the attitudes of the figures from those of the Babylonian-Greek sky. The identification of the zodiacal constellations can be made in clockwise sequence near the eccentric circle at the centre of the star map. (The positioning of the constellations Cancer and Libra is irregular.) To the right of centre are located the two fishes (Pisces), next (below the fishes) the Ram and the Bull, next the Twins, the Crab (Cancer), and the Lion. More upwards the Virgin with the Corn-Ear, the Balance, and the Scorpion. The next three zodiacal constellations/signs are the Archer, the Goat-fish, (Capricorn), and the Waterman.

Cancer the Crab is represented by the Scarab Beetle. The figure of the Lion near the Scales (which is not the zodiacal Lion) is the constellation Centaurus. A man and a woman with joined hands represent Gemini. The Ram and the Bull are both reversed from their normal pose, and the figure of the Bull is complete, not the usual truncated (half) figure. The woman (Isis?) who holds a spike of wheat is an obvious representation of Virgo. (Also, the female figure standing on the Lion's tail, which she grasps with her hand, has been interpreted by some as representing Virgo.) The Scales point in a different direction, the Waterman's vessel and stream of water are on the reverse side of his body; the zodiacal Fishes swim in parallel directions instead of divergent ones."

Ronin says it's possible the planets interspersed with the zodiac as well as the non-standard constellations may indicate more than the 12 zodiac. They may be looking for as many as 16 girls.

I always thought that the number 12 on the greaseboard referred to the number of Elders in the religion.

12 girls, though... I would think would be difficult to govern. First of all, Bree doesn't seem to know of anyone else who is involved in the ceremony like she is. On one hand, it would make sense if the Order kept them segregated so that they couldn't get together and compare notes, so to speak, and figure out what's going on... but dealing with 12 girls, training and teaching them, surveilling them, would be a massive undertaking that I don't think could be accomplished without keeping them all in the same generalized area.

We already know that they spend the resources to effectively raise and monitor thousands of potential ceremony girls across the world. It's not really much of a stretch to that point you bring up here.

We're getting ahead of ourselves, though. We still don't know that they need 12, or even more than one. Has Bree weighed in on this at all as to what she thinks?

Thats what the parents and "handler", for lack of the proper term Bree used, are for. The "handler" was guiding and preparing the girl, while monitoring their diet etc.,

I believe Bree talked about Tachyon in this way? (correct me if I am wrong)

And if the girls grew up in the "religion" and knew nothing else, then they would not question what they were being groomed for. They would simply accept that this is the way they were raised, in terms of diet restrictions etc., and that life for them could be no other way. (or something similar)

In any case, nothing is impossible, especially for a well organized institution.

And Bree has yet to comment on any of this theory.

What if the girls weren't all going to be in the same ceremony at the same time? What if they had to be in a different ceremony, say one a month, starting at a specific date and continuing on until the last girl?

Perhaps starting on the first day of the year by the denderah zodiac or something?

Those numbers from the board are beginning to make more and more sense. The numbers were 9, 12, and 16. There are 12 in the modern zodiac, but there were 16 in the denderah zodiac.
They are as follows:

Capricorn
Sagittarius
Scorpio
Libra (Scales)
Virgo
Leo
Coma Berenices
Cancer (Scarab Beetle)
Sirius
Orion
Gemini
Taurus
Aries (Ram)
Moon (Luna)
Pisces
Aquarius

That leaves the 9 to figure out.
