I'm a big conservative prude who voted for Bush. It cant be helped.
Oh well, see Dennis Leary's plans for World Peace. I think it was the No Cure For Cancer CD.

I'm also certain I've seen you on LJ
Hehe, thanks tannhaus. And I had a livejournal once upon a time, but I don't think I ever put an actual picture of me on there.
Come to think of it, I don't even really remember what my screen name or password was for that site.
But now that you mention it, I think I'll hunt for it.
Thanks Mirage.mirage wrote:Beautiful tattoos!! How much did the lip one hurt?augustwhispers wrote:So... yeah. Here's me.
I work at a tattoo shop, so I have a growing collection of skin art, haha.
Also, I have a new femme skull and bones on my inside right ankle, but I've lost that picture somehow.
And yes, the one on my lip is real. I get asked all the time.
I have more pictures on my myspace, but these suffice for knowledge of face-to-screen-name placement.
The one on my lip surprisingly didn't hurt too bad. More of a sting, really.
Only thing was we had to tattoo it twice to make sure the ink didn't fade.
Now, the ones on my feet on the other hand... holy jumping Jack Flash, hehe.
I plan on getting many more, even one more of my other foot.
As well as adding more to the lip. That picture isn't updated as of within the past few months. I have two hearts on each side now, and I plan on getting them bolded and colored in.

Thank you!! It's SO flippin difficult. Lets just say the person who first proposed us quitting didn't hang. At all.
My worst time--this is odd--is when I first get out of the shower. For some reason that really bothers me.
One of my biggest fears of tattoos is jumping or something and just getting a huge broken screwed up line somewhere. That's why getting the lip thing would worry me. I'd be afraid that my lip would twitch or something! Before my newest one, I had one on each shoulder, one going up my ankle, and one on my wrist. Really none of them HURT hurt, there was these little twinges of pain when they'd get near the boney areas (luckily I'm quite plump so nyah! ) during the outline. So I thought I was pretty diesel and could take the pain. THEN I got my back done. High holy hell!!! That was pain like I'd never felt before, especially when he'd get up to the nape of my neck. *shudder*augustwhispers wrote:

Did we get to see the feet? I dont believe so! I'd love to see them, and the "girlie skull" as well. You said that you work at a tattoo place? What do you do?
Actually, the famous charm wasn't there at all, but there's probably a good reason. I was supposed to interview him for a website I was working for, but it got cancelled for various reasons. They gave us a chance for a posed shot, though, to use alongside written responses to our questions (lame). He was on his way to his car going to a fundraiser (this was during the 2000 convention that nominated Gore) and he'd just shaken a lot of hands. He knew I wasn't with the groupies, and that he was supposed to meet me for some reason, but he clearly couldn't remember why. He just seemed confused and awkward. He was very big and very red, and had a little styrofoam cup of coffee. You'd think the Prez would at least get a freebie hotel mug...Mirage wrote:orvetti wrote:One more... me 'n Bill, Aug. 2000

Awesome picture right there. My mom's met him (he came to the opening of a new casino here in CT) and said he was really nice--southern charm thing. How was he with you?

LMAO! He's not interested in male interviews. We all know what makes the man tick.orvetti wrote: Actually, the famous charm wasn't there at all, but there's probably a good reason. I think he's great. He's just got a very down-home attitude that I think is very endearing in any person, much less a president....and he deserved a real cup, damnit!
So you work for a pretty "big" website then, huh?

Haha, I can see why you'd worry, but tattoo artists know to feel if you're the jumpy type. I've yet to get anything on my back, despite my wanting to. Just have to find the right design.
The koi fish tattoo is one I have on my left foot, and here's the girlie skull on my right foot underneath my inside ankle:
That one was a killer, especially near the edges. Pain in the ass to heal, too. lol.
And I'm an apprentice, so I'm learning the business.
Taking some time off from it so I can go to school, though.
It's about time.

I LOVE the skull. That is freaking adorable!! The purple/blue/green combination is definately very striking. How much of a pain in the ass was it walking around after it got done? Gah, you couldn't really wear shoes either, huh?
I jumped at the back one, but it was a small thing and easily covered up. You cant even tell now. Well, I suppose an actual artist could. But to my untrained eye it looks fine.
That is SO cool that you're an apprentice. If I had any artistic skills I would love to do something like that....but I can't even draw a stick figure straight. Some day when you actually start doing tattoos you'll have to show us pictures! (because you know this forum is gonna be up for the next 5 years. )
I hate to feed the Clinton cliches, but before he got to me, he met a long line of college kids. who were volunteering at the convention. He spent a LOT more time chatting up the cute girls than with the guys.Mirage wrote:

I have a Clinton story. When I was a reporter in Northern Virginia, he visited the local government building, and we were all hanging out outside. He came out but kept looking back at the building. Apparently, he met some clerk (female of course) and had been flirting with her. He kept looking back when leaving, then turned around and went back to the window. She opened it, and they talked for like 5 minutes. Finally he left and was all beat red. I heard later she was married and totally blew him off (and not in the Lewinsky way, mind you). Pretty amusing...orvetti wrote:I hate to feed the Clinton cliches, but before he got to me, he met a long line of college kids. who were volunteering at the convention.
