Of course, you're right. I'm not religious myself, so I guess I am coming at this from a historical point of view. My main point--which I seem to be doing a bad job of making--is really just a complaint about the hacks I see out there (around here). I am by no stretch an expert in this area, or even much of a neophyte, but it seems that ever since the Da Vinci Code everybody in America thinks they see hidden connections between things. Number symbolism is a big favorite for this kind of thinking, probably because it's so easily manipulated.
