Were you playing your song?

Post by Nieriel.Manwathiel »

All of us were a little confused by some of the things you said a few days ago when you were in the chat room with us. Some people thought, because you play piano, you were trying to play your song. Here's what some people (smarter than me!!) said...

Hedakeinasuitcase wrote:looking at it, its possible that the random number is derived from a scale pattern.
in music, often times when working with instruments in different keys, u refer to the notes as numbers.
IE in a C scale, 1 would be C; 2 would be D; 3 would be E, ect.

i translated it... but its missing a rythm. i'd play it simply as is, but i don't have a way to up load it.
this is what it would be with notes.
D C F G d E F B G F E d C B G E d G F E G E b F d G F# E d

lower case letters are in a differen't octive... d is up one, and the lower b is down one.

maybe the other randomness could be the rythms...
Following your idea, I got

D c F G d E F B G F E d c B G E d G F E G E e F d G E d Gb F E d

I considered 8 to be the fundamental 1 octave up, and 0 being a 10, i.e., e, and I chose 5- to be a blue note (Gb) instead of F#, hehehe.

That's what we get:

does this song sound familiar?
If not, never mind, and get back to having fun with Jonas!! :)

We miss the old you; the Bree we see right now seems like she's hurting.

It could just be me, but doesn't that sound a little similar to the OpAphid Vids music? Maybe sped up or something, I don't know, I'm not very technical...

Good job though!

i thought that the numbers were just gibberish, like...

92031874092187430198273401987324

to me it looked as if she was just typing randomly
the only reason i don't like big dogs is that everytime i see one, the only thing that goes through my mind is, "oh god! what if ants were that big?"

Woops, excuse me, didn't notice you were quoted. I'm sorry.

Either way, in an attempt to get this thing back on topic. It did sound kind of familliar to me. I didn't see that many others saying it did, so maybe I'm just hearing things.

Either way, it was a good attempt.

It sounds a little like "Scarborough Fair".

Can someone transcribe that into a bass tab?

I can't read music, I have music dyslex-kia. It's dildos, I hates it.
I like music, a lot. And yea, that's it.

Oh ****, forgot about beer.

And I listened to that song, and it sucked. No offense.

I put those notes in Reason 3, so its 4beats to a bar, 1 note to a beat I had the tempo at 98bmp.

I think I might give it a bit of a remix :D

What is the tempo it is supposed to be played at?

Does anyone have Power Tab? You could break it down and look at it really easily with that.

PushedButton, your mix is great, but the song bites.

One of the reasons the song bites is that there's no variance in the length of the notes.

so, pushed, u DID mix this yourself? sorry it's off-topic, but awesome!

Push will be selling CDs this fall, first album a self-entitled hit, "Pushed"! ;-) LOL

also off-topic (beg your pardon, Bree, for the parody)
i think it'd be fun to go through all the past mysterious messages and such and try to do songs out of them!
the official HoO Debut Album "There's no HoO in Mexico (But hopefully that'll change this fall!)"!!

ok. back on topic now.
Bree, whether you meant to play this song or not, I think you gave us fodder for a forum theme song! ;-)
