and yes, Mormons consider themselves Cristians but a lot of other Christians recognise Mormonism (if that's the term for it) as a cult.

Since this thread is revived for some strange reason, I thought I'd just clarify that not all Mormons are a strict cultish people. And it's a small minority that practice polygamy.

It just bugs me when people see people of this faith in that stereotype. I know a ton of mormons. A friend of mine who I've known since 1st grade is mormon and I had no idea until it got brought up 8 years later. He's not allowed to drink caffeine, party, or date until a certain age (and hey... sound familar? Like every other teen ever

), and his parents don't even really care, even though his father's job is directly involved in church teachings. He has definate faith in it but he's by know means "hindered" by it and is a completely regular teen. Same with the other mormons I know.

I've just seen a lot of this talk on here (well, not really, for the last like 8 months haha) and I feel like people don't understand this. Since the thread got revived randomly I thought I'd just chime in with this before a discussion starts.

EDIT: I still think it's hilarious anyone thought this in the first place. Even if you are referring to more extremists there were very little similarities. Ohh those were the days

oh, yeah... of course. Mormons ar epopel too, you know! I'm just saying what a lot of Christians believe. I'm a devoted Christian and I dont believe it's a cult... I can identfy with a lot of ;the beliefs you specified, actually. I don't sate, drink, party, etc. It's a purity thing. I won't date till i'm older.
