locking threads before...
answer to question is given...
I'm just going to use the most recent example (but I know it's not the only time it has happened before...
The "email notification but no PM" ended with issue cleared by third party *locked*
Yet it didn't say if it was just a hiccup or some other reason. When another user even said it happens to her sometimes and she didn't know why. Generally if you have a question someone else has it too. Can we please at least answer the question before locking the thread? So everyone can have the answer to it.

Re: locking threads before...
Yes.
I sent tigerlilylynn a PM, but then I deleted it. When you delete a message sent to a user before the user reads it, then the user gets an e-mail notification, but they don't see the message.
The issue is private, but she didn't mean to leave you guys in the dark about it. She just didn't want to draw attention to my private issue.
It is not a problem with the forum.

I'm not saying she needed to bring the private issue forward (or with any other one this happens to), she could have just said if someone sends you a PM then deletes the message before you read it you get the notification but wont see the PM. She didn't need to bring the details of that event forward.
I wasn't even calling out tiger that just happened to be the most recent one. Nothing against her, it's just annoying when that happens.

Well, I think she was really trying to not point out the fact that I had done something annoying.
I'm sorry I did. It was my mistake, and not hers.
I apologize, and I hope that the issue doesn't become a sensitive one. I'm only chiming in here because it was my fault that the issue was brought forth to begin with.
I hope I have cleared it up.

She was being funny, I'm sureShardinsKitten wrote:If you have a problem with the thread stay out of it. There is no reason for it to be locked.Danielle wrote:Can we lock this thread to be ironic.
In the specific example you sited, the question had been answered a long time ago as a possible cause. I'm glad Apo finally managed to confirm it for us
In general, I'd just venture a guess that the mods don't see the value in keeping the threads open once an answer is received by the person who asked the question. Anyone with the same question could always PM the person who asked to see if they're willing to share the answer, or just post the question again

Urg, it would be hell. That thing is 4 hours tooo long. I always fall asleep near the beginning (Sixteen going on Seventeen) and wake up and there are Nazi's shooting at them in a parking garage.ApotheosisAZ wrote:You just did.Danielle wrote:Apo, I'm a results kinda girl.
I'm going with the one that says yes.
No, I'm not justifying that.
Nikki and Holly will one day have you to a sleepover and force you to watch The Sound of Music. That would be both dramatic and cosmic irony.
Bad plan.
