Is color-coding involved in genetics or DNA strands some kinda way? I just can't get over that the clothes and furniture match...unless Spencer really is OCD. That is just too weird to be a coincidence.
I'm afraid to bring things up like this anymore for fear it's a ploy to get us chasing our tails again.

Sadly Juli, I think it's just us over-analyzing in hopes of some info because we have no new vid.
And now with Sarah's new blog i'm thinking the next vid will be 'ok i'm hiding from daniel' followed by DB saying 'well sarah's not talking to me...'.
In short more drama yay *sarcasm*

Kinda - when you're sequencing DNA, each base gets attached to a compound that fluoresces with a different color.longlostposter wrote:Is color-coding involved in genetics or DNA strands some kinda way? But I think that it's just a coincidence anyway.
I'm canon; the Creators just don't know it yet.
Just out of curiosity, which color represents which base?TOSG wrote:Kinda - when you're sequencing DNA, each base gets attached to a compound that fluoresces with a different color.longlostposter wrote:Is color-coding involved in genetics or DNA strands some kinda way? On chromatogram readouts, it's always:kellylen wrote:green = g
yellow = c
blue = t
red = a
or thats what i think from remembering
im too lazy to get my textbook out
Black = G
Blue = C
Red = T
Green = A
I have no idea if those are the colors of the actual fluors used for the sequencing, though - all the labs that I've ever worked for outsource their sequencing.

I'm not going to read through all 16 pages right now, but my thoughts on this guy are 100% positive. When I heard they were going to introduce ANOTHER new character I remember reading somewhere that he was going to be an attractive young guy. And as I don't find Jonas or Daniel remotely attractive, I thought he'd be the same kind of guy. In my mind, he was going to be like a hot young soap opera doctor and totally unbelievable. But I like this guy! He is definitely a little off-beat and a bit geeky which goes well with him being a scientist, but he's not Revenge of the Nerds geeky. His geekiness strikes a good balance. Plus his myspace says he likes Star Trek (squee!) and various other sci-fi, which gets a big thumbs up from me. And his clothes and decor are green, and that's my favorite color. Which is a dumb reason for liking a character, but it really just cements it for me.
I haven't been able to relate to any of the characters save Daniel on occasion. I haven't been attracted to any of them. Not Sarah, not Daniel, not Jonas. Taylor provides some nice INTELLIGENT comic relief, so I enjoy her character. But this Spencer character has FINALLY given me a character I that can see myself really enjoying and relating to. I'm always a fan of the geeky and slightly awkward characters.
They really knocked it out of the park with this one. I'm happy they finally threw a bone to the geekier among us, and it's been long overdue IMO. It is an internet show, after all. I hope to see much more of him, and hope he isn't just going to be in a few videos and disappear.
And I hope to see him making subtle star trek references that I will get.

If this goes the way I hope it will, then Spencer comparing the Order to the Borg is exactly the thing I'd like to see. Except for the fact that the order are nothing like the borg. The Order are more like... Section 31.tailortaru wrote:Spencer: so... The order... Is that like the borg?
Everyone else: hahaha that's our spencer!
Spencer: guys, I have a secret... I'm really Tachyon.
*shock*
Spencer: And brother
*more shock*
Spencer: And maddyatkins is still alive and will start posting videos soon!
*fankids explode*

Plothole magic I'll give you. The borg are not inherently evil. They are all drones with no free will of their own, directed by one (or several) queens. They are in constant pursuit of perfection. They assimilate in order to survive.tailortaru wrote:The order are totally the borg.
They're evil...
And robots...
And have Plothole Magic(or is that the creators?)
...

You'd understand if bree was jean luc picard. <_<
Okay, I take back what I said. The Order are the Borg. They recruit, they don't assimilate. And Bree does seem to be doing pretty much exactly what Picard did when he was Locutus. Perhaps all we have to do is watch a few episodes of Next Gen to find out how they're going to get Bree back, hah.
ETA: Alex is Seven of Nine...?
