I opened an IM from someone on myspace, that I thought I knew and it said"You've been torched"....huh ??? I didn't know them...

what does that mean ?

Oh, that's one of those sound things I think. Someone pretending to set you on fire and it makes a fire sound, usually.

Chelsey, it did have a sound effect, so it was prob. just for fun and doesn't "mean" anything ???

Yeah, there is other ones like someone blowing a raspberry and it'd say "You've been RASPBERRIED!"
