[Chat Log] Chat in #Maddison 7/14/07

Post by janejane26 »

Acidfingers was nice enough to post a log of the chat with Clara that took place in #Maddison today:

http://www.acidfingers.com/hosted/maddison.20070714.log

I pasted some things below that Clara said in chat that I thought were interesting. They helped me gain more of an idea of where she was coming from, at least.

[19:03] <amblyopianne> i don't type very fast
[19:09] <amblyopianne> i hate reading too

[19:24] <amblyopianne> my advisor is setting up all these interviews for me
[19:24] <amblyopianne> he just wants me to graduate and get out of his hair

[19:25] <amblyopianne> i don't have a lot of time or money

[19:25] <amblyopianne> i work at chiles
[19:25] <amblyopianne> waitress

[19:26] <amblyopianne> arscott knew madison but she was in another department than him
[19:26] <amblyopianne> communications

{Question on how she got the idea for Maddison as a topic for her thesis.}
[19:29] <amblyopianne> it was my advisers [idea]

[19:30] <amblyopianne> i just hate typing

[19:31] <amblyopianne> i hate doing research

[19:31] <amblyopianne> i glaze over reading all the stuff in the forum
[19:31] <Kellylen> well thats why i made a video fo ryou
[19:31] <Kellylen> and if you want ill make more
[19:32] <amblyopianne> id like that
[19:32] <amblyopianne> simple short explanation

{About Maddison's case}
[19:36] <amblyopianne> its a fairly simple case
[19:37] <amblyopianne> strange
[19:37] <amblyopianne> but straightforward

[19:38] <amblyopianne> i think mr zipp was just a crazy dud who wanted to gather an audience to commit has fd up crime

[19:41] <amblyopianne> i have an interview set up with frady on monday
[19:42] <amblyopianne> i have a list of questions [to ask frady]

[19:43] <amblyopianne> im just trying to focus my thesis on how the murders affected nac the families of the victims and sfa

[19:43] <amblyopianne> im not exploring fradys motivation
[19:43] <amblyopianne> its actually too broad
[19:43] <amblyopianne> i want to talk to arscott to narrow the thesis

[19:45] <amblyopianne> when i watched madisons videos she seemed to think the world of you all
[19:45] <amblyopianne> like you were really helping her out

[19:47] <amblyopianne> i tried to follow all the lonelygirl stuff
[19:47] <amblyopianne> but its confusing

[19:50] <amblyopianne> i guess ill just do a few more interviews and piece together what is the strongest of the three ideas

[19:51] <amblyopianne> i graduate when i finish it [the film]
[19:51] <amblyopianne> id like to be done to walk in august

{Speaking about going to Maddison's apartment}
[20:11] <amblyopianne> maybe monday i dont know why i need to go there its kind of creepy

Edit: Updated subject.

There is something I am wondering about ... Clara seems to have come to the conclusion that Mr. Zipp and the murderer are the same person, and that Mr. Zipp wanted an audience (for some demented reason) and that was his motivation for all the interaction with Maddison leading up to the murder video that was posted online for the world to see.

My question is, do either of these conclusions really add up?
1. Mr. Zipp = murderer
2. motivation was to get an audience for the murder itself

I hope in the interview on Monday, we will get some answers from this Joel Frady as to his relationship with Maddy and Adam, whether he was the one sending her all the messages and pigeons and drop materials, whether he is "Mr. Zipp," why Dr. Suess, is he Warpylol or is that someone he works with, and why he killed Maddy and Adam.

Whatever we learn from the interview, I'm sure it will lead to more questions later, so it would be a good idea for Clara to attempt to pave the way for permission for follow up interviews with Joel Frady. My gut tells me this will be a one-time opportunity though, so she should definitely make the most of it.

If anyone has advice for Clara prior to the interview Monday, well, time is short...

We should try to schedule a time with Clara before Monday where she can provide us with her list of questions and we can give imput on anything she might have missed. And we have to be organized if that chat is to occur. Because I agree with Q the C...this might be our only opportunity.

Um...does anyone else think that perhaps we should be looking into her advisor? Why is he pushing Clara to do this as a thesis?

I hate to say this ....
I get the feeling from chat & Clara's posts here
that Clara has a different goal than we do...this may not work out very well

she states she is only interested in reporting the effect the murders had , she is not trying to help solve them
in her mind it is done and solved

she wants to finish and graduate
we may just be banging our heads against the wall with this

Well, I just read in another thread that an email was sent to him, so hopefully he'll respond and open the lines of communication directly to us, instead of going through Clara.

I am sure this has been brought up. But it is starting to make more sense to me as this progresses .

Mr Zipp= the class advisor Arscott

"arscott knew madison but she was in another department than him "
close enough to know Maddison, yet not "meet her" ..possibly close enough to have access to her passwords ..

Mr Zipp/advisor would be feeling guilty about Maddison & Adams death..this could be the motivation for trying to bring more attention to it by assigning it to a student.

guys her advisor is actually a real person. I suggest NOT contacting him in case he knows NOTHING about this.

remember we dont call drop places ahead of time. we don't bring innocents into this.
Oh yeah. I'm that girl on FOB Life who Rafine said that Reza, Jackson, and Yousef all wanted to screw when I called in.

I know we've both been repeating this over and over again, but you're totally right Kelly. It's really not a good idea to involve anyone who isn't supposed to be involved.

Disagreed - he's been mentioned so frequently as being the driving force behind Clara's project. It's almost begging us to contact him. OOGly, I'm fairly sure that Jeromy wouldn't do that unless if Arscott were in on the ARG, or at the very least, aware of it.
I'm canon; the Creators just don't know it yet.

If we let Clara frustrate us, we're not going to get anything done. Let's just focus on what Clara can do for us and that is get access to people in Maddy's life that we'd never be able to contact on our own. Let's gather what evidence we can and then WE can investigate further without her.

OOG: I tend to agree with TOSG here. I'm sure Jeromy has cast the roles appropriately, including the use of their contact information.

IG: The community needs to come together and compose a compelling introduction for Arscott. I assuming that since he suggested the project to Clara, that he's well aware of our existence. The lack of action is what killed Maddison - let's not make the same mistake twice.

Clara says her scope is too wide. Here's an idea that might help her project and help us find answers. Find a POV for the film...namely herself...by retracing Maddison's footsteps. Mr. Zipp started this all in part by setting up online accounts for Maddison. Whether you believe our"conspiracies" or Clara's more straight forward view, becoming part of an online community is an important part of the story. This is why she should be involved herself. It will give her thesis some shape and focus.
