I don't think it's that shallow to make judgements based on either.BrightSilence wrote:I'd say, leave the postcount and join date there and remove the shallow people. If only the world were that perfect... *sigh*

Well, yes it is.consideration wrote:I don't think it's that shallow to make judgements based on either.BrightSilence wrote:I'd say, leave the postcount and join date there and remove the shallow people. If only the world were that perfect... *sigh*
If people judge by saying 'Oh you haven't been around long enough' or 'Well, you're just a n00b' or whatever, then it is shallow.
I think join date should be removed, post count stays, and remove ranks.

What?
Cannot help but wonder how many people are really worried about this? This seems like an issue for a few people, rather than many.
Personally, I enjoy seeing the join date, post count, and tongue-in-cheek ranking by post count. The post count ranking doesn't inspire me to up the number of my posts though, nor does someone's avatar cause me to give their posting a special weight.
The mods are trying to keep balance and harmony. And if removing something will keep joy and community together in LG-land then, fine. I just have some doubts that it will affect the maturity or logic of all of us in how we read each other's posts.

I really don't think it is that big of an issue.
If people are seriously judging someone (and actually disregaurding everything they say) by their number of posts then that is extremely lame. I will admit, when there is a new thread by a first time poster where they start explaining and pointing out extremely obvious things or start a thread that already exists, I laugh. But only a little. :]]
I am sure most people have snarked and muttered "n00b" a couple times. It is harmless.
The titles are cute, plus, I got to say "Damn right I'm not a 'casual observer'!," when mine changed.
I say don't mess with them, it isn't really big enough of a problem to change it. If people where forming the neo-[lg]nazi party it would be different.
