Autumn - Yeah, unrelated my ass. I feel like a big experiment here.

Ms. D~ Both religion and science are grounded in philosophy. Philosophy has to do with how people see the world. Scientists believe in facts. They believe in following their minds. They believe they can be completely objective.
Religious and spiritual people follow their hearts. They believe in gut impressions. They are very subjective. They believe what they feel, by faith.
These are two polarized philosophies, but they are both philosophies. Science is not necessarily superior to religion.

Autumn - [Holds up her wrist where the scar is now open again] I scraped it on the door when I was leaving my dorm, lovely, isn't it? [Sighs and picks more dry blood off of it]

Ms. D~ Jason, you are correct. Science is a religion to many people. They so blindly follow "facts," as if they are the ultimate truth. They practically worship their own logic.Spades wrote:Jason:[To Ms. D] Religion and science hate each other. Actually, a lot of people follow science as if it's a religion. Ms. D~ Autumn, you are not part of an experiment. Also, that language has no place in this classroom. I will need to ask you to refrain from obscenity while in this class. Thank you.watching_watchers wrote:Marbella wrote:Ms. D~ As outlined on the board, our first topic of discussion is the relationship between religion and science. Ms. D~ Autumn, this is your second warning about your potty mouth. Once again and I will have to send you out of the class and you will miss your lesson.watching_watchers wrote:Autumn - Theres nothing wrong with refusing to believe things that are clearly wrong. Like this shit here.Marbella wrote:

Autumn - Oh I'm sorry. Did your little angel tell you that was a bad word? Or is that just something your pulling out of your own ass? [Sighs] Whatever Ms. Douche. Its called freedom of speech.Marbella wrote: Ms. D~ Autumn, you are not part of an experiment. Also, that language has no place in this classroom. Ms. D~ No, there is nothing wrong with either approach--science or religion. What's important is to be conscious of how both are based in philosophy and to ask yourself what your own philosophy is.Spades wrote:Jason:[To Autumn] On you're door? [To Ms. D] Is it really wrong to think things out logistically based on what we know?
