For somebody on the outside of this Madison thing, it's confusing. Even your summary is long and complicated. I'm starting to understand more, but I can't say I get it. I can't see how anyone could understand this looking in from the outside.
Thanks though Kellylen for making these two videos. I really appreciate you reaching out to me to explain it.
I can see what happens in Maddison's videos. But they aren't very linear or logical. You know?
I've been thinking a lot since I had my ass handed to me by her Dad yesterday and then you guys in the chat last night.
I know I'm not the smartest or the best student. Honestly, I will be thankful to just pass this thesis project and get my diploma.
I do care though. It's sad that her and Adam were killed. Scary even.
Maybe if the explanations were shorter, and more spelled out for me, then maybe I'd be faster to absorb this. Maybe more people would be able to understand your theories.
I'll come back to chat sometime soon, but I don't think they like me there.
Anyway. Thanks again Kellylen.

I think Clara has a point here. If we don't buy the internet predator explanation, we should come up with one that makes sense, right? What's this conspiracy theory we all think is going on here? Sure, it may have many holes in it, but the idea is to try to fill them in in a way that makes sense. It is our job to do that, not Clara's, since we're the ones saying this isn't some random predator playing a sick game of attention.
Think of it as, we're supposed to convince an independent jury (outsiders) that there's something more to this than what Clara, the police, the DA, and everyone other than us is thinking. We need to provide a logical and sensible alternative explanation.
So lets assume Zipp's initial message was genuine. He's a worried parent who asked Maddy for help. What then? How do we build our case against this "order" or whatever this conspiracy is about? It's easy to say "oh that editor looked shifty, the police officer is suspicious," but none of that holds any water if we don't provide some logical and solid leads to back it up. We can't go to court and say, hey jury, watch these LG15 videos and you'll see them orderites stalking, kidnapping, even killing people. That wont do.
I don't think retracing Maddy's steps will help. We know we've done that a million times and haven't been able to come up with anything that makes sense, and doing it again with Clara is likely to be fruitless and the waste of effort and time potentially fatal. We need to come up with an alternate theory that can be explained to an outsider in simple terms. Then, the leads that sustain this theory can be as intricate as need be. But the theory itself should be explained in a few sentences. Something like:
"This girl was taken by her mom into some dangerous cult against her will. Her father wanted to expose the evil cult in order to try to recover his daughter. He contacted Maddy for such and such reason, and established a channel of communication through her. Time ran out and he was tracked by the cult, was abducted, brainwashed, and programmed to kill Maddy and Adam. The girl is now still with her mother and in danger within the cult, so the father can't speak openly about anything in order to defend himself in trial without risking his daughter's life."
That's just an example, and clearly I couldn't come up with a reason why Zipp went through Maddy, why he chose her, and what he was trying to reveal of this cult. Admittedly, it's not easy to dismiss the lone internet psycho-predator wanting an audience for his sick game.

I think you are right Deagol. I am not keen on the "retracing Maddy's steps" plan.
I am keen on the interviews. I think if Clara had the right questions we could learn alot.
The problem is we don't have consensus on what we think happened. So we can't really present it clearly and concisely like Clara needs.
We really need to get our act together.

The problem with tracing Maddy's steps right now is that we aren't. From what I've seen in that thread, its based solely on the puzzle solving and there are lots of mentions of us.
It needs to be just what Maddison did, where she went, who she saw, not a puzzle by puzzle replay.

Deagol, that actually makes the most sense of anything i've heard so far.deagol wrote: "This girl was taken by her mom into some dangerous cult against her will.
