No, you're thinking of Final Fantasy. They use laser and ion cannons in Star Wars.

Probably because he is...painfully so. The man attempted to build a career upon DESPERATELY trying to shock people, but he's such a bland unimaginative person, the attempt failed miserably.

That's okay, I skipped that movie too. But I remember that scene in the trailer and thinking it [the scene] was kooky enough to warrant a chuckle.
