we dont do "virgin scarafices"
and we dont do ceremonys in the middle of a forest
AND WE DONT WORSHIP CROWLEY WHATEVER HIS NAME IS

ok i agree with u but i think your approach is a little wrong. even if u take away all the ceremony crap bree couldn't be LDS. LDS girls have a strict dress code. shirts must have sleeves, not be low cut, or show the stomach. shorts must go down to the knee. as you must know, bree does in no way follow this at all!

That was the weirdest display of geekdom that I have ever seen in my entire life.

There it is, right there in the middle!

D'oh! But seriously, take this example:

Clicking on 'Ignore' on a particular poster's post would yield the following result for all of his posts:

Now, isn't that much better than having to read some of the drivel here?
why is everyone ignoreing me?
thats how we do it

It's a whole lot simpler than that.

Bree isn't Christian. That excludes Mormons, too. End of story.

Yes...there are many misinformed people who say Mormons aren't Christians. But, that's simply not the case. Just because they don't follow the the "rules" of Modern Christianity doesn't make them non-Christian. A Christian is anyone who believes that Christ is the Messiah that was promised to the Jews. That's it. From there we go in hundreds of different directions of interpretation.

Here's the biggest thing... modern Christians often focus on Christ's death as the ultimate sacrifice.

Mormon's actually consider the suffering in the Garden of Gethsemane to be the pivotal moment. That's where Christ suffered emotional and physical pain, the suffering of all of the sins of all the world. He became the sacrificial lamb and fulfilled a great part of the Mosaic law with that, as well as his death and resurection. His death on the cross was an important aspect of the enitre plan...but for Mormons, that isn't the focus. That's why Mormons don't wear crosses or have them in their buildings.

It's all a matter of perspective. Mormons very much believe in Christ...and they are Christian. It's just that the have a different focus, and their church is built in the manner that Christ himself built his ministry...not the way it was done by the Catholic church several hundred years later.

The problem is that there are a LOT of misguided websites that talk about Mormons without actually understanding it all. You cannot compare Mormons to modern Christians...because Modern Christians have a completely different mindset. BOth groups are Christian, though.

Also, understanding Mormonism is easier when one understand the history of the ancient Jews, and they understand Christ's ministry...not the ministry of others that followed.

Also...Bree talks about "The Deacons" -- and it is assumed that those are the upper end leaders in her religion.

For the Mormons, a Deacon is usually a young boy of 12 or 13...having just received the initial rites of the priesthood. Mormon church leaders are Bishops, Stake Presidents, Apostles and the like.

I don't know about all the Mormons on here, but I personally laughed REALLY hard at that suggestion!
C'mon, LDS people, we all know that our religion has been verbally abused since it started, and that it's not going to stop now. Take it with a grain of salt, clear up misconceptions without being acidic, and go on your way.
Seriously though, the suggestion was FUNNY!

Why has this thread been coughed back up? Nobody thinks she is LDS, for the record...this thread needs to be allowed to cough, sputter and die.

yeah, they need to change their acronym. I keep getting flashbacks of drinking grape juice and staring at broccoli for 6 hours in a row because it said "hi".

So, why did you post it, again? You weren't actually posting in response to anyone.
