Worst Case Scenario - Forced Ritual
In Lonelygirl15's latest video, "Life's Not Fair," Bree said that the deacons are refusing to accept her decision to back out. This will now force one of two outcomes.
Outcome A: Nothing happens. Since the Order of Denderah can't force Bree to complete the cereomony, and they don't have time to find a replacement, nothing happens. The Deacons, being very displeased about this, might consider excommunication for Bree and her family.
Outcome B: The Order of Denderah desperately finds a way of forcing Bree into performing the ritual by gaining leverage on her somehow.
The latter, involving more risk to all parties, is the worst case scenario. It would involve threatening Bree in some way so that she has no choice but to go ahead with the ceremony. (Assuming that she has to perform some actions) Since that would be unlikely, as I doubt they'd harm her and that she might still refuse, they'd be more likely to threaten someone close to her.
We know that the Order, or rather Lucy, has been keeping tabs on Daniel. Of all the people that could be chosen to gain leverage on Bree, he would be the most likely candidate.
Of course, those are extremely drastic measures. I doubt the Order would do something that crazy. If they were though... well, I'd recommend that Bree AND Daniel lay low for a while. But that is a big "if"...

I have fought so hard
Driven so far...
Will there be a heart left to spare?
I cling with such resistance,
But in your existence
I've discovered your word is so true!

One thing that would stop them from actually kidnapping Daniel, though. I think his parents would notice if he came up missing. They want to keep their society secret, they don't want the cops to come looking for them.
Daniel knows about the ceremony. He knows Lucy and has been following her, so they have to assume that he knows where she lives. They can't know that he hasn't told everyone he knows about the ceremony and the helper. They have to assume that if Daniel went missing, people would come knocking on Lucy's door, possibly leading them to the cult. Also, who knows what kind of evidence he might have hidden for someone to find?
Of course, just the threat that they'd hurt Daniel might be enough to make Bree comply with what the elders have in store for her.

I've been wondering, and this is a good time to bring it up: have we ever heard anything about Daniel's parents? Or does he live alone? The latter would make sense -- he's already graduated from high school. Maybe he wanted/needed to get out of the house. (Yeah, I know he doesn't seem to have a job, but this is fiction.)silvermoon wrote:One thing that would stop them from actually kidnapping Daniel, though. in one video bree contacts them to find daniel and they tell her he is with friends
I wish I knew more
I realize I know very little about all of this, but I'll keep reading/watching/learning, pls don't give up on me.
j/w, this 'order' thing her parents belong to, I assume, made them do the ceremony too? But why, if the parents have done it, would they be SO concerned? Is Bree still a virgin? I'm curious, head's going in circles. I know 15 y/o virgins are becoming more & more difficult to find; could this be the reason they're having such a difficult time finding a replacement for the ceremony? I mean, when they say that Bree must participate in the ceremony, I'm sure she has stuff to say/chant/whatever, but is she going to end up as some sort of sacrifice?
Please enlighten me, anyone. Feel free to call me what you will, I assure you I've been called worse

Re: I wish I knew more
I don't think so, because her parents don't seem to know what the ceremony is, exactly. I'm thinking the order may be a separate order within the religion, because of the fight where Bree says "They don't know. They're not Order of Dendera, okay?" So maybe Bree has been hand-picked to be in this order that her parents aren't part of, and that's why she originally thought it was such an honor.MrsCop wrote:j/w, this 'order' thing her parents belong to, I assume, made them do the ceremony too?
