Yeah, what was up with THAT? Nobody wanted to believe that in the middle of all the cult stuff they'd come out with "Another Episode of Proving Science Wrong". We're sitting around trying to figure out the significance of TIME magazine, NY Times bestseller and two clocks on the floor... "Time, Time, Time"... Turns out there was no point to any of it. At least not as far as I've seen.spaciegirl wrote:I agree...especially when it results in "Proving science wrong". I can still taste the vomit in the back of my mouth.

I agree
I agree. Just when it seemed like the plot was moving in a compelling direction we get the Nickelodeon crap again.
Note to creators: do not listen to people who want to see more Target stuffed animals on screen. The result is stupid and boring.
Another note to creators: the pace on this seriously needs to pick up. And by that I mean the pace of the story progression and frequency of the videos.

Time and PSW
Trainer101: Re the two clocks: no mystery there and no attempt, I believe to create one. .. until the past century, you needed two clocks to determing longitude one telling the ship's time, and one giving the time at the port of departure. The difference in the two "times" allowed you to calculate (or at least estimate) the distance you had travelled and thus guess your longitude.

Re: Time and PSW
My point was people were trying to figure out how the time references fit into the overall cult storyline. Also, how longitude and latitude figured in. Turns out they don't, at least not as far as we can see, which only highlights what I was saying. The video was stuck in there just because people kept asking for another "Proving Science Wrong" even if it was completely out of context.glucosamine wrote:Trainer101: Re the two clocks: no mystery there and no attempt, I believe to create one. .. until the past century, you needed two clocks to determing longitude one telling the ship's time, and one giving the time at the port of departure. Sorry if you misunderstood.

i miss the good old days when this was total analysis. i thought it was cool when someone would see a clue and it would turn out to be true... i'm not sure if that was the creators taking ideas into consideration or if they just planned for it all along. i have gotten the impression that they really never had a well-organized plan, just a general one which has been severely influenced by the forums. it's gotten to the point where we're all just waiting to see what happens, and we watch a 2 minute video and wait for the next one. there's no analysis in between. there are just predictions. the discussion has ultimately come to "i predict that cassie will jump out of a closet" and "i predict that gemma will dye her hair orange" intertwined with a load of bullshit about "omg i hate the creators" "omg i'm bored i need a new video" "omg stop complaining you're so annoying"
it used to require more thought and analysis and examination. now it's just a guessing game, and i am losing interest.
be careful, creators.

Alot of the analysis of these vids was going on at the same time CiW was running rampant. Because of Cassie, people were analyzing everything. Now that the Cassie furor has died down, much of the analysis of the LG vids died with it.JustAnotherLonelyGirl. wrote:i miss the good old days when this was total analysis. i thought it was cool when someone would see a clue and it would turn out to be true... i'm not sure if that was the creators taking ideas into consideration or if they just planned for it all along. i have gotten the impression that they really never had a well-organized plan, just a general one which has been severely influenced by the forums. it's gotten to the point where we're all just waiting to see what happens, and we watch a 2 minute video and wait for the next one. there's no analysis in between. there are just predictions. the discussion has ultimately come to "i predict that cassie will jump out of a closet" and "i predict that gemma will dye her hair orange" intertwined with a load of bullshit about "omg i hate the creators" "omg i'm bored i need a new video" "omg stop complaining you're so annoying"

and yeah, i guess you're right about the cassie thing.
but still, when we were trying to figure out her religion and the ceremony and stuff... we used to find clues that would pertain to it. now there's nothing left to figure out except guesses about what might happen, which makes it too much like every other t.v. show. i really loved the analysis part because it was so unique. it was interesting to hear everyone's ideas about the clues and stuff. i just hope new mysteries evolve in the plot for us to solve.
I am with the 0-15% crew. Throw us a bone now and again about something we come up with, but for the most part, I want to be challenged and surprised.
The best time in the lg15 universe is when we are scouring the net for details about some ancient deity or ceremony or trying to find out what those crazy letters have to do with anything.
Less G, more PG13. Intrigue, mystery, danger -- that's what makes it fun, at least for me.

I pretty much agree with the last couple posts. I find it hard to even comment on the videos lately besides to say that I don't like them becuase there doesn't seem to be much there to comment on. They're just plot advancements..pretty matter of fact. There's not really anything I need to go find info. about. That was fun, delving into Crowley, Thelema, absinthe etc. Now what am I supposed to do...look up stuff about biscuits and longitude? If there is stuff we need to decipher, it's not very clear and the subject matter (clocks, the Mayflower, google maps of Alaska and Texas and stuff...so on) is a big, fat yawn.
Me and my key...same as it ever was.
