0068 Horrid Flatmates [11.5.06]

I know I'm gonna get ripped a new one *braces for it*

I liked the video. I think it was just because it was kinda applicable to my life now, having to deal with roommate issues. It was cute and spunky. No, it didn't advance the plot, but it was entertaining, at least for me.
Plus she was much cuter here, and I loved the miming of an argument. And where she said maybe they thought she had nasty habits, then shook her head no it made me laugh. It was just cutesy fluff. Maybe it isn't the best time for fluff, but it may be that Bree won't have any cutesy vids for a while. So in order to keep the quirkiness up they use Gemma so it doesn't get too macabre and lose the audience that wants some harmless fluff to brighten their day.
As long as Bree doesn't do cute mindless stuff I'll be happy. She's in no place to do those kind of things, as many of us pointed out with the Proving Science Wrong video being in the middle of this dark storyline. So I guess Gemma is our comic relief.

Obviously Gemma has a life unlike the rest of us, and doesn't spend all her spare time waiting for videos to load. If she did, she would have seen the "Where are my parents" episode.

Gemma is living her life, arguing with her roomies, and we sit on the edge of our seats waiting for more news.

When Gemma gets caught up on her video watching, she will get concerned, and we will get more help.

I agree. Gemma hasn't heard from Bree and is concerned, and she can't look at either of Bree's last 2 videos??? I mean look at us, we're concerned and we don't even know the "religion" as well as Gemma does! It takes less than 5 minutes to find and watch Bree's latest video. I refuse to believe that Gemma has such an eventful life that she can't do that, but she can make a video about biscuits. Bull#%@t.

Here is my new wild and crazy theory:

Gemma THINKS she is living independently, but her flatmates are really members of the Order assigned to keep track of her. They invade her computer while she is sleeping and delete Bree's videos. This is why Gemma is clueless as to what is going on with Bree and Daniel.

It could happen..........

Hey all. Long time lurker, first time poster. This series is getting seriously addictive!

So, I agree that it was really cutsie and fluffy

...but maybe there's deeper meaning or some sort of clue that we're overlooking? Anyone think there's a chance the "trail of crumbs" might mean something more?

You know, I get that. I really do. The only thing that frustrates me A LOT about this video is the apparent time warp. It's not that Gemma's video doesn't add anything to the plot - it's that her video is completely off base as far as a sensible reaction should be, assuming she's watched Bree's other videos.

And there's no reason I can think of why Gemma would be able to post a video of her own, and not be able to see Bree's recent posts.

I don't see this as an actress issue - she's just doing the job she's told to do. But the Creators aren't being sensible here, unless they really want to portray Gemma as this totally uncaring "tra la la" bimbo.

It's hard to explain.

In fiction, events can occur at a certain point that seem like inapropriate for the moment. In real life (LG15 is supposed to be real life) things like that happen all the time. There is bad timing, but because it's real life it doesn't matter. The fact that Gemma posted this at this point of the story makes it seem more realistic
