Acronym: A.P.H.I.D.

When Gems says: "acknowledge their position and help initiate a dialogue", that you think is the common known meaning? And the acronym is different for the elders or deacons? I could see that as a possibility. Would the last two letters be the only ones with a different meaning?

(forgive me if this has already been gone over, I glanced around to make sure..)

I think gemmas version, is what they tell the younger ones and the outsiders....and Op's version is the elders/deacons/outsiders meaning. whats do you mean only ones with different meaning?

Up to this point, from past postings on OpAphid's YouTube profile, we have been given the following information:

The first step toward any solution? ANALYSIS. ANALYZE the data in front of you.

To PROTECT is our greatest purpose, above all others. The importance of PROTECTION is essential to understand before any further progress can be made.

Identifying the enemy allows us to HINDER their actions, which is an effective means of PROTECTION.


In Bree's video Survival Skills she says: "Back in the community, we used the saying "OpAphid." Its an acronym to guide our interactions with strangers, but I think I'll need a little more than that now."

Bree uses the word strangers and OpAphid uses enemy.

I originally started this thread with this information, and for some reason I do not understand, 5 pages of old, mostly random posts have been moved infront of it. It really doesn't help the newcomers like I had intended.

OpA also PM'd me today to confirm that there are different variations of the acronym APHID.

One, innocuous, probably meant for children, when dealing with strangers. The other more sinister, meant for those in The Order, when dealing with enemies.

We were all outsiders once, but we were immediately taken to the insiders description of what Aphid means, before even officially having chosen sides. I'm sorry, but that's the reason I find this twist hardly believable.

Since this was the "new" section of the boards, I posted what I thought would be an easy summary for new players coming over.

Now it looks like there are many posts going back as far as Sept 29th from the Prologue tacked infront of the new posts this week. If you read through it, it is really hard to understand what exactly is going on from a new player's prospective.

Not trying to be difficult, just not understanding what happened here.

That's how I understood Gemma's video too, with my OpAphid-newbie CiW-damaged brains. OpAphid seems to be a generic term for interaction with outsiders. So it doesn't seem too twisted to think that in a mind-controlling Order they would prepare the kids with a game-oriented version, and conceal in the acronym a dreadful meaning for when they get older (if ever they have a chance to get older).

I think this is an artifact of Oppy being independent at that point and now the creators are having a go at writing some backstory with the concept.

Here is a little clue I have.

I asked OpAphid about hacking into Tachyon's youtube account. It was a very silly question but I was curious and this was the response I got:

"The I in APHID commands that we only attempt such things if we can avoid detection, dear"

This reply from OpA still gets to me, although indoctrinate could fit.
