The Order of Denderah

Post by Traegorn »

So, apparently, in whatever group Bree's family is in - there is a higher echelon called the Order of Denderah (Learning to Drive)

Denderah (alternately spelled Dendera by other egyptologists) was the center of Hathor worship in ancient Egypt. Here's some interesting things on Hathor and Thelema...

I'll never know how people can hear that stuff.

I played that like a 100 times and it sounded like gecko to me LOL.

I did however find and order of the gecko but it was a dead end.

Unfortunately I'm now part of a wiccan order based outta New York LOL!

I slowed it down a bit, and she seems to be saying Denderah.

at the very least, we know she's using three syllables.

Well, I can clearly hear Denderah, the middle syllable is rather short in her pronunciation is all.

Combined with it being in the tags (originally not having been, and then being added later) leads me to believe we were supposed to hear it.

Order of Dendera - if it relates to Horus/Egyptian themes

Festival/Ceremony day on Egyptian calendar for October 12
"The Black Land is Given to Horus. The Red Land is Given to Set"

Now, there are various groups like Kemetic Orthodoxy which celebrate various Egyptian religious ideas.

Might be interesting to do some research on this idea.

Well, Hathor (in some cases) is said to be the Mother of Horus

i posted this over at the cove site, thought it might help here as well

Dendera
At Dendera Aset and HetHert are both honored. There is a small temple to Aset on the precinct where her birth is consecrated and inside the main temple of HetHert is a chapel which is called the 'place of birth'. The Five Epagomenal Days are represented with depictions of the respective deites on the southeast columns of New Year´s Kiosk located on the roof of the temple at Dendera:
[the fourth] of the Epagomenal Days the beautiful day of the night of the child in the nest, great feast in all the land'.

May your coming be peaceful.

Opet Festival, Day 10

The day before the end of Opet, we ready the gifts and the offerings of food and every other good thing to celebrate with. Opet's end is Saq-Amun-em-Opet, a procession of Amun, and a big festival. Enjoy this day and honor the King of the Gods with great rejoicing!

In the quiet of your shrine today, think about something you would like to do in your life that you could use the gods and goddesses' help on. Tell it to the Holy Family -- tell Amun-Ra, Mut and Khonsu, and ask for Their help and blessing in your endeavor. Then watch as your success is golden.

Pray in Their names for all that you need at this special time of year, and have a wonderful end of Opet.

Horus/Set

Post by mijajane »

I started doing research on various terms that have come up today based on Bree's new video. I just had some of the wierdest Internet moments of my life! There are some strange people who have Web sites out there when you randomly search "Set" "Horus" "Denderah" etc.

But for the most part, they concerned the great mythic battle between Horus and Set and Egyptian religious rites and themes. Oddly enough, Crowley's name came up several times on many of the sites (whether reputable sources or not). Could Bree's mysterious religion be based on worshipping Set? Set is seen as an evil/Satan entity who murdered Isis' husband/brother in a horrible way and then battled Horus (Isis' son/reincarnated husband?) for power.

Of course, this is assuming that Bree's religion is something scary...her refusal to talk about it for fear people will not understand. Her parents don't know what's going to happen in the ceremony?!? Daniel seems concerned for her.

And maybe I shouldn't bring up Cassieiswatching--but the theme of those videos (whether "official" or not) has been very, very scary.

so, the month of Hethara in the ancient egyptian calendar ends in mid october. remember our 10.12.06 date. Hethara is the month named in honor of Hathoor, also called Het-Het. Denderah is the site of a magnificent temple where Hathoor was worshiped. At the end of Hethara is the Feast of the Three Noble Ladies. then the Month of Koiak begins with the Feast of Sekhmet. Sekhmet is the wrathful form of Hathor. She protects the good and annihilates the wicked. perhaps we'll have to WAIT and see.
