I've never been to a doctor....I just drink some wine and take my sleepy-time gel tabs. I couldn't take them tonight though because of all my work.

Trainer.....what's behind the name? It's probably here somewhere but I have that "laziness" issue. :)
It's right here

So right now I'm mentally exhausted, and would like few things more than sleep, but my body is almost buzzing it's so awake. It's kind of wierd to have hypersomnia mixed with insomnia *shrug* though my mom has the same thing, except her awake time is in the morning, which is FAR more functional. But both of ours only lasts about 4 hours, which is the only time where I feel really alert without meds.

And thanks Ennovi! It took a few years, and several different medications, but I'm good now. I won't say I have never used it as an excuse to get out of things like early morning classes or anything *shifty eyes*
You definitely seem "squirrely" right now......OH MY GOSH...another plant.....Nut Eats Man.....

I'm usually super awake at night but have trouble functioning during the day because I just can't concentrate. The sleep paralysis only comes on when I fail to go to sleep early... like right now.. it's almost 2.00 AM!!!

I'm glad you are better now! *hugs* :)
1:50 here......I need cable.

My husband has restless leg syndrome but can go to sleep instantly so it only effects him when he's trying to work or study.

Almost 3am here. If I shut everything down right now, I'll toss and turn for an hour (which is what I usually do).

My problem is respiratory (breathing.) I have acute apnea. I used to take medication for it, as well as sleep with a machine to assist with breathing while I sleep. I've been taken off the medication, but most likely, I'll need the machine on while I sleep for the rest of my life...

I know, not exciting, at all.

The machine has to be on while I sleep, but I'm usually up for most of the night, anyway.

Yeah, trainer is like Superman about keeping up with this stuff.

It's nearly 3. I was out studying with classmates after my final, and didn't get home til 1:30, so I knew I was in for a sleepless few hours. I figured this forum has always been good to me in the middle of the night (oh, how I miss drunken posting ;) ) so I'd waste my time here.

*hugs Ennovi back* aww, thanks! It's great that I got it all managed. I've had a few episodes of sleep paralysis, but I never really had the hallucinations with it (not like you're crazy hallucinations, like hypnagogic and hypnopompic ones that usually happen in narcolepsy and other problems with regulation of sleep/wake transitions....)

Gah! Part of my test today was to give the diagnostic criteria for narcolepsy, so it's kinda funny that I'm getting in this conversation tonight!

He just gets up, walks around, stretches out on the floor while he works, and just goes to sleep if it gets too bad. I get it too and it prevents sleep so I just have to stretch a lot until I go to sleep eventually.
