It's sad. At least it was something. People always talk about the dreams they have...all I have are a couple good stories about one incident with sleep paralysis and old night terror stories. Now, I got nuttin.

I'm not reading 10 pages, but the subject caught my eye. I used to have sleep paralysis. I don't know if its been mentioned here before but here are a few things that have helped me out:
1. leave a night light on
2. don't sleep on your back, but if you do, make sure you have a pillow (i know it sounds weird but i know people who prefer to sleep without pillows)
3. As soon as you realize you're in the middle of the paralysis, it helps to concentrate all your energy in movie your pinky. Think Kill Bill ("wiggle your big toe")
Since I've started doing this, I haven't had any paralysis. It's been about 3 years now.

Part of my sleeping thing is a lessened amount of REM sleep so few dreams. A lot of the dreams I DO have are the ones that happen in the front of your brain, where it's really detailed and logical. I can not TELL you how many times I've been talking to someone about a conversation we had and only realized after they stared at me funny that it was a dreamKasdeja wrote:That's what you say, now. Try years with no dreams at all. It's actually a little disturbing, haha.

edit to add: it seems like everyone in here has sleep problems. Most of them sound really scary! I'm sorry you guys. The worst thing I have is the heartburn, insomnia sometimes and I grind my teeth.

Pretty severe sleep apnea here... I don't notice so much because I'm asleep (though it does wake me up once in awhile), but it scares the crap outta my wife when I stop breathing... The rest of the time she wants to smother me so she doesn't hafta listen to me snoreLadyBugGirl wrote:edit to add: it seems like everyone in here has sleep problems. Most of them sound really scary! I've...never...no...NEVER...thought about covering my husband's mouth and pinching his nose after an hour of trying to fall asleep with his loud ass fricking polar bear snoring going on....wintermute wrote:Pretty severe sleep apnea here... I only snore because of the apnea... And as I've put on a little weight, the apnea has gotten worse, causing the snoring to get worse... I've got a doctor's appointment in January to get a referral for a sleep clinic (which I am *not* looking forward to), but I have a feeling that I'd be OK if I could drop just a little weightKasdeja wrote:I've...never...no...NEVER...thought about covering my husband's mouth and pinching his nose after an hour of trying to fall asleep with his loud ass fricking polar bear snoring going on....
