i think its blend not block it.
I think you're right. given what the strand DOES, "Blend" makes MUCH more sense than "Block"

Raven_Night wrote:______related - telomere synthesis
Replication of linear chromosomes presents a special problem.

DNA polymerase can only synthesize a new strand of DNA as it moves along the template strand in the 3' –> 5' direction. This works fine for the 3' –> 5' strand of a chromosome as the DNA polymerase can move uninterruptedly from an origin of replication until it meets another bubble of replication or the end of the chromosome. However, synthesis using the 5' –> 3' strand as the template has to be discontinuous. When the replication fork opens sufficiently, DNA polymerase can begin to synthesize a section of complementary strand — called an Okazaki fragment — working in the opposite direction. Later, DNA ligase stitches the Okazaki fragments together.
^^taken from a site about telomore
lol funny random story i was in biochemistry last semsester and my asian friend asked me if i wanted to see his Okazaki ;D haha

and that thing about telomeres i would say is more about introns and exons.

anddd blend doesnt make much sense. you cant blend RNA together. you need enzymes to cut and piece together it
Oh yeah. I'm that girl on FOB Life who Rafine said that Reza, Jackson, and Yousef all wanted to screw when I called in.

So.

Bree has a special mutated ribozyme that is different from everyone else's. Every HoO girl? Do they get something at birth and only they have it, and not people like us? Bree's mutated ribozyme is 'special' to the HoO, it's the one they want.

The rest of it:
3) A non-functioning mutated(?) ribozyme exists and manifests differently in every Hymn of One girl.
4) This portion still functions but you cannot block it because the complimentary strands of RNA won't combine

Theoretical Solution
1) Block the ribozyme in question by obtaining a sample of the that same ribozyme in order to ____
2) Create complimentary strand of RNA.
3) Q.E.D. strand will bind to ribozyme and occlude its activity/energy/effeciency(?).

Practical Solution
1) Obtain blood sample of Bree .
2) Synthesize complimentary strand of RNA
3) Inject Bree with this compliementary strand.
4) Q.E.D. ribozymes blocked will be rendered defunctual.

Intended Results
1) Once synthesized and injected into Bree she'll become trait negative
2) Additional consequences (if any) - TBD

Makes sense by itself.
Except TBD? I wonder what that means?

tbd = to be determined

The Bree Solution (that sounds REALLY important Shocked)
Objectives:
How to tansform Bree from TRAIT: POSITIVE to TRAIT:NEGATIVE

Given Facts:
1) Bree's blood contains a special Ribozyme mutated and unique only to her
2) The Gene for said ribozyme has a regular hyper mutation that changes with every generation
3) A non-functioning mutated ribozyme exists and manifests differently in every Hymn of One girl
4) This portion still functions but you cannot block it because the Complementary Strand of RNA won't combine

Theoretical Solution
1) Block the ribozyme in question by obtaining a sample of the that same ribozyme in order to copy it
2) Create a complementary strand of RNA
3) Q.E.D. strand will bind to ribozyme and occlude its activity

Practical Solution
1) obtain blood sample of Bree
2) synthesize complimentary strand of RNA
3) inject bree with this compliementary strand
4) Q.E.D. ribozymes blocked rendered defunctual

Intended Results
1) Once synthesized and injected into bree she'll become trait negative
2) additional consequences (if any) - TBD

______ Reference Points
Theories concerning ribozyme function
a)RNAse P related -tRNA cleavage
b)splicosome related - intron/exon splicing
c)Hammerhead related - telomere synthesis
d)GlmS ribozyme related - fructose 6-phosphate pathway

Aponi - TBD usually means "To Be Determined"

Meaning they don't know what side effects this "treatment" could have on Bree besides making her Trait Negative.

Meaning it could be dangerous for her. Or it could be totally fine.

I think you're right. given what the strand DOES, "Blend" makes MUCH more sense than "Block"
In context, it seems blend is more likely. Saying you can't block it because it won't combine? If it won't combine it's blocking itself.

Yeah trying to be an English major in a science thing like this is useless sometimes XD

Oh, and thanks on TBD. I'm useless with acronyms. Not joke. That's why I want to kill TCC right now.

things having to do with DNA and RNA and genes do NOT blend

definitly begins with a C and it looks short. If you say copy I say I copy.
God i'm retarded. (And for a second I was like 'do not compute? XD)

it's saying it WONT blend anyway. So doesn't that agree with you
