Oh, I feel strongly about it, but I'm honoring the Creators wishes to not discuss the specific issues.
All I did was point out a fact. They were talking about who does the video editing, and the processes the videos take...and Glenn's name was never mentioned once. I think they made it pretty clear. I think the issue is that some people refuse to accept the answer they've been given. That's all. And after what I witnessed in the chat tonight during the show...I'm convinced of it.
Trust me, I'm not at all rude here. You all haven't even seen rude from me yet.

I wanted to add one more thing...just as a 'what if'.......
Have you stopped to think that they haven't really given any info because they simply don't have a resolution yet? Perhaps they're waiting until they have the new PM to figure out what they'll do. Finding a new PM isn't exactly an easy task. Have any of you hired a new employee? It's only been a week. Hiring a new employee can take weeks...and this is a rather specialized position. They can't just hire some JoeBlow off the street.
Even with that, of course, I still don't think it's any of our business...

Unfortunately, I have to disagree with part of this statement as well. While I agree that The Creators don't appear to have come to a decision about the matter yet, I don't believe it has anything to do with the ARG. After all, a man's livelihood does lie in the balance.bethy wrote:I wanted to add one more thing...just as a 'what if'.......

I don't think that The Creators would simply put this important issue on a back burner like that. They stated that they intend to issue a statement about the issue as soon as possible. I believe them.

I disagree. This thread was created with a clear bias towards Glenn. I think many people with different views would be hesitant to post here.Luv2Luvem wrote:If you would like to "move on" and are tired of discussing this topic, feel free to ignore the thread. This is what most people do when they don't really care about the subject matter.
That was the weirdest display of geekdom that I have ever seen in my entire life.
Uhh, as the person who started this I never said anything liike "if you hate Glenn don't post here!" In fact, until recently I was one of the most anti-Glenn people around. This post was merely made as a chance to collect all the allegations and facts about Glenn, critically examine them, and come to conclusions based on them.colbertnationgirl wrote:I disagree. This thread was created with a clear bias towards Glenn.
My conclusion is that Glenn has done something wrong, but that with the constant silence from the Creators what was a pretty simple thing has blown up and turned into something massive, resulting in many people now having the wrong idea about what these allegations even are. Meanwhile based on a closer analysis of the vidplay (it is who wrote the script), I have come to the conclusion that Glenn has made positive contributions to the story line, and that if the rumors are true that he's fired for what essentially amounts to one misdemeanor and many other allegations which have been allowed to run out of control, then we shouldn't stand for it.
The Cs owe us some sort of statement on what they have and if there is any substance to the unproven allegations (so far all we know if the FallingIntoSin chat for sure). They don't have to make their decision yet, a simple statement on the progress whch is LONG overdue would suffice but is clearly not forthcoming.
I don't think there is ANYTHING about this thread which should discourage anti-Glenn people from posting if they do so responsibly (basing their opinions on proven facts and not the rampant speculation and all-out lies). If you don't like it here make your own thread.colbertnationgirl wrote:I think many people with different views would be hesitant to post here.

I still don't see how some people claim to know the facts any more than the rest of us, honestly...so anyone claiming to 'clear things up' really doesn't have any more accurate info than anyone else who was here and read everything posted as it happened. Nobody but Glenn, the Creators and those involved know what really happened...and those involved all have conflicting stories. I say we start minding our business and let the Creators mind theirs. To me, allowing this to perpetuate is a bit faulty in logic and a bit haphazard. But, hey, that's just my opinion. We now return you to your regularly scheduled LG15 programming.
You cannot make another post so soon after your last; please try again in a short while.

And so does the livelihood of quite a few other people for the entire series...let's face it, he was removed as PM for a reason. Those reasons are clearly against the vision of the Creators. It doesn't matter how talented the guy may be...if he screwed up, he screwed up and keeping him around could potentially have an effect on the livelihood of many. People get fired all the time. If he's talented enough and he is, indeed, gone from the entire project...then I doubt he'll trouble finding work elsewhere. After all, a man's livelihood does lie in the balance. I don't think that The Creators would simply put this important issue on a back burner like that.
Again, it's only been a week. I wouldn't call that back burner. But, then again, after last night's show, they made it pretty clear...at least to me...who's doing the editing and such.
This thread is not in support of Glenn, it's a way for people to badger the Creators to giving in to their demands and I personally find it disgusting that there are people with forum powers keeping it alive while closing others. For goodness sake, this thread is fucking stickied. Hey look at us... And during last night's chat?? Some of you guys are so transparent, it's ridiculous.
IF the Creators ever do say anything, that's their perogative. I don't think they need to say a word...but since they said they would...fine. But until then...some of you guys need to chill out. Seriously. And even then, I'm sure none of you are going to like what they say, either. I can see the mass boardicides now.

....and yet, the moderators are keeping this thread not only open but stickied.
Can anybody see the problem here?

I think it's time to say that we agree to disagree, and move on.
Everything just keeps going in circles, and the Hyemew's original point for this thread gets buried just a little more each time the cycle comes around again. Everyone's views are laid out here pretty clearly for the Creators to see. I'm sure they've seen this thread by now, and if it's going to influence their decision, then it's probably already had it's influence.
Please, before you post any further comments to this thread, consider whether you're adding anything to what you've already said, or just repeating your comments on the matter over and over. If it's the latter, I doubt it will change anyone's minds about anything at this point.

I don't see how the fact that he shilled a few puzzles (which needed to be solved for the story to progress) and had a few adult conversations with a few other adults should have any bearing on his writing with the series.bethy wrote:And so does the livelihood of quite a few other people for the entire series...let's face it, he was removed as PM for a reason. Furthermore, you are neglecting the fact the OpAphid is a part of LG15- but who controls it now? If the Creators have incorporated OpAphid, then getting rid of Glenn would mean he loses all rights to his characters and the hard work he did for months on them. I don't see why this should happen to him, as we can see the Creators WOULD stand to gain by continuing this game they are playing of having Glenn's rep getting irreperably tarnished with us. Silencing us and leaving this inconclusive for as long as possible can only benefit them.

Hyemew's original point to the thread no longer matters since the Creators have asked us not to discuss those things.
Basic logic tells us, therefore, that this thread shouldn't even be open. Yet...it is....and it's stickied. I think it shows a blatant disrespect for the Creators and their wishes...who are paying $40K a month to keep this project (and these boards) running.
Believe me...I hate it when people beg to close a thread. I am totally against closing threads, but if there were ever a case to do so...this is it. I'm disgusted by the behavior of some of the moderators here who I used to respect. You guys are slapping the Creators in the face by going directly against their wishes. And in last night's chat? Oh, my...such blatant disrespect. Just appalling.
Flame me all you guys want. It doesn't bother me. Rest assured, though, that there are many who are discussing this elsewhere and feel exactly as I do.

I would happily discuss this...but I actually respect the Creators request not to do so. Sorry.

Again, unless you've got facts to support this assertion, this statement is only speculation. What's more, as I've said elsewhere, I very much doubt that Glenn would be able to retain the rights to his characters if he signed a contract with the creators. It would make no sense for the creators to agree to such a clause, because it would limit what they could do in future vids and any accompanying ARGs.HyeMew wrote:If the Creators have incorporated OpAphid, then getting rid of Glenn would mean he loses all rights to his characters and the hard work he did for months on them. I don't see why this should happen to him . . . .
But I'm answering speculation with more speculation (albeit my speculation is based on my knowledge of both contract law and professional practice in the comics industry).
I think 'mute is right -- we need to move on. And I think bethy is also right -- it's time to close this thread.
I also want to formally request that the sticky on this thread be removed. Stickies should be reserved for threads that contain general information that all forumites need to be aware of. This thread does not fall into that category.
