The "creators" did not reveal at all that Cassie was not religious. Bree said Cassie was freaked out by her religion. Daniel is as well. I suspect that someone who was religious is much more likely to get freaked ot by Bree's. Just not the same religion. It was/is the Christian church that opposes the Magik religions. There may as well be things about Bree's religion that would freak out anyone. This genre from Rosemary's Baby and the Exorcist on up to most present day horror flicks tend to have religious characters on both sides.

Most -- but not all -- of the Anchor Cove regulars were offended by the ciw's use of an explicit, personal crime scene photo as part of a game clue, the juxtaposition of a slain actress image with an image of Jessica, and the positioning of a clue discussing the slaughter of children on a children's playground.

That irritation has so far been exacerbated by occasionally rabid attitudes of some of the ciw fans to twist logic about to somehow "prove" that ciw is canon despite the very unambigious statement by Miles and Mesh that it is not. As an example of this, note that in the "Who is This" thread, two separate requests by me for people NOT to post speculation about the house being a clue were both ignored, and when the Admin account finally stepped in and echoed this, at least a couple of posters leapt in and stated that if the house wasn't a clue itself, then that somehow proved that ciw is canon because it is supposedly the only "interactive" element of the shared fandom.

Now, ciw fandom appears to be very rapidly adapting and realizing that lg15 canon is not necessary for its existence, and already in a matter of hours, much of that irrational tone is evolving into the same reasoned speculation shown by the best cassieiswatching fans. I do not doubt that Anchor Cove will very likely adapt as well in response.

This is the natural course of growth for new fandoms as the various subcultures define themselves, decide what they regard as acceptable, and negotiate how they want to position themselves in the virtual field.

Or the Beatles White Album - always a good source of mystical material :D

But was it the subculture who defined itself or the moderators? There is way more activity on the one CiW post on LG15 then the entire rest of the board and the few times I've stopped over to Anchor Cove there was not much being discussed. Alissa Brooke even said she didn't like the way CiW was progressing, so that's why the board baned it. The Creators, themselves, have been far more circumspect then you suggest.

Let's see...you have the book of John... the book of Paul... the book of Ringo. Sounds like the Bible to me! ;)

This spoof goes way farther than anything we have been discussing:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IBNzuX4Z_AU

But still looks tame by modern horror movie standards. I haven't seen the Saw series but their trailers are pretty creepy.

Urgh, I typed out a response and then realized it would be completely off topic for this forum. But I'm interested in continuing the convo if you would also be interested -- perhaps in the Off the Cuff forum?

mLe wrote:Ok, this is really bothering me: I don't feel like the two mentions of cassie by Lg15 make sense together, at all. I don't know if y'all have covered this but please, watch both videos in succession. In the swimming vid, Bree acts like she doesnt know cassie with, "whatever happened to that cassie girl?" and she doesn't remember what she looks like... and if Daniel walked around the track with her wouldn't they have spoken about her before and mutually know cassie? In the new vid, Bree makes it sound like they were bosom buddies. Very awkward to me. Makes me think that the the Breeniverse realized how much publicity ciw was getting and decided to bring her in. Thoughts?
It was Bree who walked around the track with Cassie....

I think Bree's trying to look like she doesn't really care about Cassie in the "Swimming" video, maybe because Cassie "dumped" her as a friend because of her religion....
If she wanted to do that, and be vague, she really should have said; "it doesn't matter," as opposed to: "I don't remember."

It would have made it more obvious Bree didn't really 'care' about Cassie as opposed to really not remembering what she looks like because she didn't know her very well.

I agree, it does seem like in one Cassie was barely an aquaintance, and now she used to be a 'sometimes-friend.'

That parody was awesome. XD
