Anyone else feel like we got lost on this one?
I am trying to retrace the steps from the beginning of the Craigslist post.
To start there:
Bagged like my favorite character in Mallrats.
In the past Tachyon and 10033 used terms like "double bagged" to mean "double encoded."
Here is a list of characters in Mallrats:
Rene Mosier
T.S. Quint
Brodie Bruce
Brandi Svenning
Shannon Hamilton
Gwen Turner
Tricia Jones
Jay
Willam Black
Stan Lee
Miss Ivannah
Jared Svenning
Given that it looks like we didn't properly decode this message (but still got the end result minus the middle steps), what does one of these characters tell us given the Craigslist subject line?

I doubt this is related, but the conincidence is too weird for me not to mention it ....
But there's a rumor going around the internet about the new Wonder Woman movie (Remember, she was originally a comic book?) ....
Guess who they say has been casted?
www.comicbookmovie.com/news/articles/3045.asp
Weirdness, huh?
That's odd. If she does this WW role, is she going to be as good w/o P Monkey? On the other hand, it rather suits her: flying around in invisible airplanes...

Okay, this is a stretch ... but in the New Jersey Trilogy (Mallrats, Clerks, Chasing Amy) there is a reoccuring character named Julie Dwyer. She is only spoken of, we never see her.
In Mallrats, Julie Dwyer's death is explained:
T.S., You know Julie had a huge weight problem in school. She had
the fattest ass.
When you said that to her, she went straight up to the Y.M.C.A.
And started doing laps...
Because she wanted to be fit for the show tonight,
And... Well...
In the middle of her 700th lap,
This embolism popped in her brain...
And she dropped dead, right in mid-backstroke.
She's fucking dead ?
Then her sister told her parents why she was doing all the laps,
And it got back to my father, and, and--
Shit, T.S., He's really pissed at you.
I mean, it's awful about Julie's death, and...
Now he doesn't even have a female contestant for his show.
I don't know .... it's a stretch ... but maybe this is her favorite character? Bagged as in ... six feet under?

Panda, sorry if this was discussed before, but could you please explain what Bagged X5 means, that it seems we already knew? Thanks!

Of course darling. I'm sorry I didn't make that clearer.
Bagged like my Favorite Character in Mallrats -- TJ QUINT
QUINT = Five (Quintuplets, etc)
There were FIVE different parts of the puzzle we had to solve to get the answer (hypotethically, anyways
)
1. cassandra hughes
2. poly[amorous] sub[missive]? [u wish!]
3. u may b [roughly] 32186 kilometers away butt eye can c ya
4. turn it out go _ 36 34
5. SuperBoy fitty fo'
Dig it?

Ah yes of course, my brain is a mush from converting gibberish from base 36 to base 34. Thanks!

Deagol, I posted an explanation of the base conversion on the recap thread - don't mush your brain too much

UPDATED original post again to try and make sense of these instructions.
Anyone else get the idea that Tachyon was getting back at 10033 for the music mash-up puzzle?
1.
cassandra hughes
Character on the show
HEX
2.
poly[amorous] sub[missive]? [u wish!]
3.
u may b [roughly] 32186 kilometers away butt eye can c ya
(this works out to the song "Digital Getdown" by NSync) - unknown which coding method it refers to still. Binary?
4.
turn it out go _ 36 34
The song "Turn It Out (Go Base)", 36 34 in hex are 64.
base64
5.
SuperBoy fitty fo'
SuperBoy #54 features the introduction of the character
HEX

d3c0d3 4 k3y / c0d3d 1n70 l337 5p34k 17 3qu4l5 'T'
translated: decode 4 key / coded into leet speak it equals 'T'
In leetspeak, T equals 7.
So whatever equals 7 gets decoded from leetspeak and presumably is the key to the cipher above? (most ciphers use letters not numbers for keys).

so i just figured out that the key is 7 right? well.. 10033=7 and 10033 in l33t speak = iooee.
try it someone.

It could also be Looee, 1 can mean either "I" or "L".

You would take the text file ("havefun") and decode it in this order (reversed per instruction):
HEX to ASCII
base64 to ASCII
binary to ASCII
Ciper (IOOEE as key)
HEX to ASCII (again)
Can someone please confirm this?
