I'd like to point out that you can find some pretty decent food dumpster diving. A friend of mine just found like 2 grand worth of unopened, unused chocolate bars a couple weeks ago...so he'll be in candy land for about the next 3 months.
And I've heard from other diving friends that you can usually get bags of bagels from bakeries who have to throw out their stuff after a day whether it's bad or not.
In most cases, I don't think it HAS to be as bad as Bree's making it out to be. But then, I'm sure she and Daniel don't know the usual tricks, so maybe they wouldn't find much.
please may i ask what they were doing looking in dumpsters?

I thought that too, but whatever it was, it didn't move, so I don't think so.
I don't imagine it would be... since you know... I think you'd notice if there was just some dude standing in a corner of your room.

It looks like a case of some kind, maybe a guitar case?

Some of my friends back home have some rather...anarchistic tendencies. And are poor. So they'll dumpster dive a) because it's free food and b) because they hate capitalism, and it's a way to eat "the man"'s food without paying, but without actually stealing either.
It's really less disgusting and more profitable than it sounds.
Plus, um...months worth of free chocolate? Come on. I'd rummage through a dumpster for that.

Yeah, food stores are always throwing out food which is perfectly fine to eat...it makes me kind of disgusted really that good food gets thrown away when some people don't have any food at all...more and more companies are starting to donate food which they can't sell but is still good to homeless shelters etc. I just hate wastefulness! but I also hate getting dirty so I wouldn't dumpster dive
I'm not sure what to make of Daniel's parents not even caring...even the most uninvolved of parents would surely just ask "good trip?" or even just "hows it going?". The story seems to be going somewhere again now, I'm feeling enthusiastic about it again now

Yes indeed. I, myself, have an internet connection, a nice warm cozy home with heat and electricity and a full time job with benefits and i STILL go dumpster diving on occassion. Why? Because we as a society are incredibly wasteful. You can go to a Whole Foods or Trader Joe's dumpster and find boxes of unopened air-tight sealed foodstuffs that have been discarded. Perhaps they didn't sell well, perhaps they have no room, or perhaps the sell by date had past, but by no means are they inedible or even gross. Perhaps there is a tiny bit of anarchy in me or maybe I just don't want to be one of those sheltered, spoiled citizens who relies too heavily on social luxuries.
I applaud Daniel's resourcefulness. He was able to squat, dumpster dive, pirate wifi and train hop with relative ease. That's a dude you wanna have on your team. Jonas is a pampered little brat who wouldn't last one night on the streets.
Bree lost on this one.
You think Jonas is gonna be able to take care of her like Daniel did?
I would love it if he lost all his comfortable luxuries and was forced to take care of Bree like Daniel did. He would freak out and leave her before she could say "I should've stuck with Daniel."
That is the story twist I propose. Have Jonas lose his big house and money and then see how well he takes care of Bree. Let's see Jonas' REAL skill set. I bet he would turn her over in a second to get that all back if he lost it.

You know how in horror movies, when people are being chased? What do they do? They split up, knowing that the "bad guy" will chase one and have to let the other go. Perhaps Daniel thinks that they'll come after him and leave Bree alone.
It's almost like a fake-out - he passed her off to Jonas and is now home to distract the Order.
Maybe.

Dumpster diving can be really cool. Check out what your local craft store is throwing away or Ross. It doesn't have to be food, stuff is cool too. Most major chains lock their dumpsters, drive around the back of the stores and see what you find.
I've also hopped trains and been caught by a "Bull" it was very scary. We were sleeping in an abondoned caboose in the yard. It was a very stressful time in my life.
back to the story.
This video was more down to earth and I'm glad the drama died down a bit. There will be plenty of time for that. I'm really looking forward to a Bree video.
These new characters take the pressure off of Bree and provide us with videos at least 4 times a week. When it was just Bree we'd only get one once a week if we were lucky.

That's a really good idea.
The question is "Does Bree know he was going to do that?" though. What if he chose to be the diversion without telling her he was going to?

RE: Dumpster diving...
Don't knock it 'til you've tried it.
It isn't all as disgusting and gross as you may think. You have to pick your spots. It's not like you're jumping into a bunch of loose trash. (
well, on the odd occasion you might be, but that's another matter)
You wonder why some places have their dumpsters locked up? This is the exact reason why. Grocery stores are a gold mine! They can't sell items that are past their
sell date but that does not mean that the food is bad or expired. A lot of the stuff they throw out is still good, as long as it's consumed or cooked/prepared in a few days.
C'mon people! This is REAL discount shopping!

Hmm... good question. But I bet if she'd known, she wouldn't have let him. She was extremely worried about him when he was following her and watching out for her before, so if he'd said, "I'm going to give myself up for you", she probably would have protested against it, I think.
