Like Bree

His mouth scruching/nose twitching is very Bree-like. I think there's a good chance they could be siblings. This guy's a bit of a theatrical actor rather than a film actor, but he still pulls off the cute dorkiness pretty well.

Absolutely, suze. This is 100% accurate for Spence's type.
Let's say, also, that Spence might be a little self conscious. The fact that he doesn't "believe" he can help might be more the lack of confidence that he'd be able to do anything at all in this case rather than the lack of knowledge of a serum.
As for the "leave me alone" part - like I said, if someone told me about this stuff and MY dead dad? I'd do the exact same thing he's doing. Exactly the same thing. Polite refusal, thank you. Don't need to open sore wounds.
There has to be something we can do though. Something, other than wait, for him to stumble across Bree's charts. Other than the notebook too. He knows who we are now, he knows that we legitimately know his father (knew) and it's not making a difference.
We don't need to convince him of who we are and why we need him anymore - we need to convince him he NEEDS to help us and it's in HIS best interest. For some reason.
Incentive, anyone?

Not to mention "my dead dad's MISTRESS?" That's the kind of thing that could seriously f*ck up the grieving process, unless he had a clue beforehand . . . he probably knew his parents' marriage was DOA, though, so maybe he
did have a clue.

Aww, he's a cutie. *Hugs Spencer* And such a little dork. And funny.
I loved the beginning. He definitely seemed like someone who hadn't made a video like this before. And his reaction to everything was honest and realistic. I can totally understand why he wouldn't want to get involved, but I hope he changes his mind soon.
I hope he isn't just here for a short time for the Neutrogena thing. I want him to stick around.

I've seen people find out about stuff like this after a death in the family, and it really sucks, even if you already kind of knew about it at some level of awareness.

Aw. He's absolutely adorable. I want to pinch his cheeks.
On a moderately more serious note, who else things he looks and acts a bit like Shaggy from Scooby Doo?
Fidgety, green shirt, cute brown hair?
On a much more serious note, I actually kind of like the theory he's related to Bree in some way. They look alike, they have a lot of the same mannerisms. Maybe Isaac Gilman was Bree's birth father or something. Who knows. If my family's anything to judge by, love of science could be genetic. Mom's a dentist, Dad invents medical devices, I'm a premed bio major. *shrug* Anything's possible, right?

Is it completely silly to imagine that Isaac Gilman is the fellow Bree considered her dad for all those years? We've been assuming that of the two voices on the mistress's recording, Drew Avery was Mr. Bree, but the mistress never said that.
Isaac Gilman and Mr. Bree died on the same day -- could this be because they were the same person?

I married an introverted, nerdy dork (who nonetheless is handsome and looks like a combination of Daniel & Jonas, and who has learned a lot about social skills and how to dress like a normal person since we got married ) I then gave birth to two little clones of DH. And I can tell you that Spencer's response is absolutely in keeping with how people like that react when they encounter strangers who want to get them involved with something unfamiliar or different: "Hello, nice to meet you. NOW GO AWAY." If they don't have any social skills yet, they leave off the "nice to meet you" and "hello" parts.
Also, they tend to have some obsessive-compulsive tendencies, which would explain the color-matched decor of Spencer & his apartment. Maybe.
This is totally most of my friends. I agree.

Well, yes and no. Bree would be something like Spencer's adopted sister. This could explain the fact that Spencer and Bree's dad both specialise in ribozymes.
This would mean that unless Spencer's dad was living a double life with two families that didn't know about each other, Spencer didn't grow up living with his dad. This isn't that unusual these days considering the divorce rate.
